ParAccel Announces OEM Relationship with IBM
IBM InfoSphere Change Data Capture to Provide Real-Time Integration In the ParAccel Analytic Database
May. 12, 2008 03:30 PM
ParAccel announced it has entered into an original equipment
manufacturer (OEM) agreement with IBM. Under the terms of the agreement,
ParAccel will embed IBM InfoSphere Change Data Capture within the ParAccel
Analytic Database, providing ParAccel customers with seamless and real-time
updates from heterogeneous databases, including IBM DB2, Oracle, and
Microsoft’s SQL Server. Customers can use this ability to create high
performance operational data stores and tactical analytic applications such as
operational BI.
“By capturing and using information in real-time, companies can make
better-informed business decisions, boost customer service and increase
operational efficiencies,” said Robert D. Thomas, vice president, Business
Development, IBM Information Management. “InfoSphere Change Data Capture will
help support the Information on Demand initiatives of ParAccel’s customers by
providing them with powerful heterogeneous data integration capabilities.”
Real Time Data Replication
“InfoSphere Change Data Capture provides sophisticated real-time data
replication capabilities such as native support for major databases and legacy
platforms as well as two-way data synchronization, data transformation, and
support for configurations with many database instances," said Philip
Russom, senior manager of research and services with the Data Warehouse
Institute (TDWI). “By embedding these real-time replication capabilities,
ParAccel will provide its customers with the ability to better integrate their
valuable information assets and further leverage that information via complex
data analysis using the ParAccel Analytic Database,” Russom said.
“We are delighted to be working with IBM,” said ParAccel President and CEO
David Ehrlich. “IBM InfoSphere Change Data Capture will provide ParAccel
customers with flexible, real time data replication capabilities. The
combination of the ParAccel Analytic Database and InfoSphere Change Data
Capture will create a powerful, low-latency analytic solution that is ideal for
financial services, telecommunications, retail and other markets that are
seeking to integrate disparate data sources into one computing environment for
detailed analysis and improved decision-making,” Ehrlich
said.
The ParAccel Analytic Database
The ParAccel Analytic Database combines patent-pending innovations with a
columnar, compressed, massively parallel, all-in-memory-capable architecture to
yield gains over other database management systems in both performance and
price-performance.
The ParAccel Analytic Database is available as enterprise software or as a
virtual or packaged appliance and runs on standard hardware such as IBM BladeCenter
and IBM eServer System x. It installs and deploys quickly and can be
implemented stand-alone in any environment or as a drop-in accelerator to add
or extend analytic processing for an existing Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle
platform. In addition, the ParAccel Analytic Database supports open standards
such as ODBC, JDBC and ANSI SQL and works with the industry’s leading BI tools
from vendors such as IBM Cognos. Built-in high availability features ensure
high performance and continuous operation.
