Boot Barn Selects Epicor Retail SaaS Solution
Retailer Gets a Leg Up On the Competition and Prepares for Future Growth With Epicor's Software as a Service Retail Solution

Digg This!

Epicor announced Boot Barn has selected the Epicor Retail Software as a Service (SaaS) solution to streamline its retail operations and support its long-term growth plans. Boot Barn was one of four Retail SaaS deals Epicor signed during the first quarter of 2008.

To support its current growth strategy, Boot Barn sought an end-to-end fully integrated, retail solution to replace existing disparate systems and in doing so, eliminating the manual processes required to integrate and share data among these systems. To this end, Boot Barn chose the Epicor Retail SaaS solution over a number of competitors to provide the infrastructure and retail best practices to support its strategic growth.

The Epicor Retail SaaS delivery model is a turnkey retail solution that provides retailers with access to Epicor’s suite of solutions for the specialty retail market place while virtually eliminating the need for an on-site retail IT infrastructure. The “pay as you go” SaaS pricing model eliminates the need to amortize the cost of “traditional” software licenses, providing substantial total cost of ownership advantages as a result. The Epicor SaaS solution for retail includes the associated implementation and integration services, support and maintenance as well as ongoing updates and upgrades, giving retailers the freedom and flexibility to focus IT resources on other more value added efforts. With a proven four month project timeline from project kick off to live, the Epicor SaaS solution for retail offers time-to-market benefits.

For a fixed quarterly fee plus a one-time start-up charge, the SaaS offering delivers Epicor’s acclaimed Retail Store, Merchandising, Planning, Sales Analytics, CRM and Core Financials directly to store locations and the head office, via reliable, high-speed networks. Epicor hosts the software on secure and redundant servers, supplies and installs all hardware and infrastructure, and provides round-the-clock data security, backups and complete system maintenance—all at a fraction of the cost of traditional software licensing and implementation. The SaaS offering also includes ongoing updates to the latest Epicor Retail software releases, making it the last migration a retailer will ever need.

“Epicor Retail had the strongest feature set of all the solutions we considered, and was clearly the front runner during the evaluation process. The Epicor Software as a Service preconfigured suite of retail solutions and proven deployment process helps mitigate the risk of deploying new technology,” said Patrick Meany, CEO, Boot Barn. “Epicor’s experience, demonstrated leadership and proven ability to successfully implement their Retail SaaS solution within a four-month project timeline coupled with its impressive retail customer list went a long way to make the Boot Barn management team confident with its decision to select Epicor as the right technology partner.”

Meany says he expects the SaaS solution to provide benefits from an overall management perspective, offering high return on investment, while sparing critical IT personnel the time to focus on other more value added tasks. In addition, having a centralized hosted system in place will assist Boot Barn in getting new stores up and running quickly and cost effectively.

“We’re pleased to have a hand in helping support Boot Barn’s future expansion efforts,” said David Henning, executive vice president and general manager for Epicor Retail. “In leveraging our Software as a Service offering, Boot Barn will benefit from our integrated, scalable retail solutions, as well as our extensive experience and knowledge of retail industry best practices that our customers have come to expect from Epicor.”

Boot Barn is the latest in a growing list of retailers, which includes Kellwood Company, MetroPark, Twigland Fashions and The Jean Shop, that have selected the Epicor Retail SaaS solution to streamline operations and drive cost efficiencies.
