Dylan Schiemann, co-creator of the Dojo Toolkit, will present a talk on 'Engaging Interfaces with Ajax and Comet' at the Real-World Ajax Seminar in New York on June 5.
He offers a preview of this talk in an exclusive SYS-CON podcast interview--the interview file is attached to this story.
Dylan is now with Renkoo, a social networking site that relies on the "Comet" approach to AJAX development. Comet is a term coined by Alex Russell, who was also recently interviewed on SYS-CON.TV. The Comet approach can be thought of as "long-lived HTTP" or "push" Ajax. It delivers data to open clients, not only in response to user input. Schiemann discusses this in the interview as he offers a preview to his Real-World Ajax Seminar presentation.
