FranklinCovey Products has announced FCmobilelife, a new set of consumer iPhone applications, which incorporates its planning and productivity methodology allowing users to collaborate with an entire smartphone network and web-based browsers in real-time.
“We’re excited to release these consumer iPhone applications and bring our proven planning and productivity methodology to a device that is growing in popularity and is being more heavily relied upon by its users,” said Jeff Anderson, Senior Vice President of Product Management at FranklinCovey Products. “People have more and more demands on their time and FCmobilelife enables users to better utilize their time by setting personal goals, organizing tasks, and creating appointments, and sharing these with others via their smartphone.”
FCmobilelife focuses on five key areas of productivity to enable users to create work/life balance and do what they need to do at their own convenience from anywhere and at any time. The five critical productivity components include:
- Schedule: A calendaring tool that allows for real-time collaboration with others within a team. Users can perform a real-time busy search from their phone and check each others’ calendars to ensure availability and schedule others for important events and or meetings.
- Tasks: Users can create voice, text or photo messages to assign tasks to family members, friends or co-workers. Additionally, notifications can be sent to notify people of current status, to accept or reject tasks or to indicate when a task is completed for real-time accountability.
- Post: Allows users to send FYI’s, reminders and updates in the form of voice, text, photo and blog messages to other users. Responses can be sent using these same posting methods.
- Goals: Users can set, track and manage progress on personal goals from anywhere at anytime and define or track progress on a daily basis. Users can also link Tasks to help achieve a specific Goal.
- Team: Add contacts from the entire FCmobilelife network to communicate and track progress of any individual or Team whether it’s a neighborhood softball team, a child’s soccer league team or a sales team. The team function allows users to communicate, collaborate and control group task management.
The first of these applications, FC Tasks, is available immediately on the Apple App Store. This application will allow iPhone users the ability to easily organize and manage important tasks on their device. This stand alone application will sell for a one-time $5.99 charge. The company plans to have all FCmobilelife applications for sale on the App Store in the first half of 2009.
“FCmobilelife is a Web services consumer application that focuses on allowing users to accomplish more with less,” said Anderson. “We believe that FCmobilelife will bring order to the chaotic lives we live by allowing users to organize and react to changes on the fly from anywhere at anytime.”
In addition to the new iPhone applications, FCmobilelife for Web, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile devices were recently upgraded to include performance enhancements that make it applicable to groups and organizations of any size. New features include:
