Gearworx has launched private label Virtual Private Servers, enabling small businesses, developers and hosting resellers to more directly manage and control their reseller hosting environment. Private label VPS accounts are powered by dedicated VPS containers, hosted on CentOS 5.2 and Microsoft Windows Server 2003 servers. Customers can utilize both Windows and Linux platforms simultaneously and manage both through a central interface.
Individual hosting accounts are controlled through Parallels Plesk 8.6.x, which offers usability. Additionally, Gearworx provides customers with a full suite of features through the Plesk Application Vault, which offers productivity tools, productivity applications, GroupWare, ZenCart & OScommerce, blogs, Wiki applications and more.
Gearworx recently introduced a line of ColdFusion Virtual Private Servers, designed to offer developers with the tools and resources they need to run powerful and scalable applications for their clients.
Gearworx's network features a gigabit Ethernet backbone, built on redundant routing architecture with hardware failover and the Cisco HSRP (Hot Spare Router Protocol). All server hardware is owned and operated by Gearworx, and not outsourced or leased from a third party.

The cloud crashes make major new stories. We've got two things occurring right now. We've got a massive move into the cloud. That was my first prediction. We have the cloud providers trying to scale up, and perhaps they’ve never scaled up to the levels that they are going to be expected to scale to ...
Frankly I’ve grown weary of the debates over the security of cloud computing. It’s not that I don’t appreciate that there are technical hurdles in front of us, but we have reached a point that a security vulnerability in a single offering, whether that offering is in the public or private cloud, res...
