CHICAGO and SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Intellext(TM) ( http://www.intellext.com/ ), the "Intelligence in Context" software company, is leading the movement towards a context-driven world of information access with its newest solution, the ActiveContext(TM) iSuite, available with client, server, and component modules. This newest product suite from Intellext is the first of its kind to help companies that are in the business of publishing and distributing online content increase the visibility of their information and offer their users a richer and more satisfying online experience by proactively driving content to the people who need it, at exactly the time when they are most likely to be able to use it. Al Wasserberger, CEO of Intellext, today emphasized the necessity of context during a preview of the ActiveContext iSuite at Software Expo 2005.
"As content providers struggle to compete for the attention and loyalty of their users, they understand that the better they know those users, the better they can serve them. Context is the key to this effective content delivery," said Wasserberger. "ActiveContext iSuite provides these companies the opportunity to politely present their information to users at the exact moment it is needed, and to leverage their edited content by adding links to other online content that will be useful to their users."
Shipping at the end of June, ActiveContext iSuite will integrate with any content management or search technology used by the publisher, regardless of platform. This simplifies implementation, so customers can roll out their new context-enabled functionality quickly and inexpensively.
About ActiveContext iSuite
An adaptation of Intellext's revolutionary Watson product, the ActiveContext Client from Intellext relieves content providers from solely relying on Internet users finding and accessing their site and information through a simple one or two-word search box query on a search engine. Instead, these content providers can provide the ActiveContext Client to their users, so that all of the information available on their site is contextually-driven to users at the exact time they are most likely to need it. This highly effective method of content dissemination allows content providers to build deeper relationships with their user communities, leading to increased page-views and ad click-through rates for advertising-supported sites, as well as increased renewal rates for subscription-supported sites.
The Intellext ActiveContext Server provides authors and editors of online content the ability to make their site the preferred first stop for users doing online searches, rather than a generic web search engine. Operating as a web service, the ActiveContext Server takes a completed content page as input and returns links to relevant content from any combination of internal or external sources to be linked into the user-facing page. This allows site visitors to see the high-quality edited content on the site enriched with links to additional relevant online information that is more likely to be helpful to the user than the links they would be shown by using a search engine alone.
The ActiveContext Component allows any content provider to build their own applications that leverage user context. Developers will be able to build client-side applications ranging from simple context-search toolbars to complex context-enabled applications.
About Intellext
Intelligence in Context. This statement forges the foundation of Intellext, a visionary company that takes information retrieval out of the search box. We have a vision - that wherever you are; whatever you are doing - indeed whatever you are thinking - your computer should be bringing relevant information to you.
Intellext uses contextually-based search technology to serve both users and providers of information with two commercially-available products: Watson Client for Windows and ActiveContext(TM) iSuite.
The Watson product suite can be used by an individual or in a business setting, and enhances day-to-day work tasks by connecting users with business-critical knowledge as they need it without interrupting their work, and is also an essential component for any business or organization interested in leveraging its investment in information and intelligence. Because Watson objectively gathers and delivers information from sources selected by the customer, companies can count on users seeing only information that is related to their work. Watson can also co-exist with and leverage a company's investment in its intelligence infrastructure and accelerates return on investment with sources such as knowledge management solutions, subscription services, databases, portals and extranets.
The ActiveContext(TM) iSuite is available with client, server, and component modules, and allows content providers to increase the visibility of their information and offer their users a richer and more satisfying online experience by proactively driving content to the people who need it, at exactly the time when they are most likely to be able to use it.
