Simba Technologies to Showcase Native Microsoft(R) Excel(R) 2007 Connectivity to Oracle(R) OLAP 11g at BIWA Summit 2008
Simba Demonstration Will Highlight Enhanced Microsoft Excel 2007 Pivot Tables Functionality Connecting to Oracle

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/19/08 -- Simba Technologies Inc., industry's choice for standards-based relational and multi-dimensional data connectivity, announced today that it will demonstrate native Microsoft® Excel® 2007 connectivity to Oracle® OLAP 11g at the Business Intelligence Warehousing and Analytics (BIWA) Summit at Oracle World Headquarters on December 2-3, 2008. Excel 2007 connectivity for Oracle, built using Simba's MDX 2005 Query Language technology, provides users with an unprecedented level of access and functionality that is the same as native Excel connectivity to Microsoft Analysis Services and SAP NetWeaver® BI.

"Microsoft continues to add business intelligence and OLAP functionality to Excel," said Amyn Rajan, Simba's CEO who will be attending the event. "Native Excel 2007 connectivity to Oracle enables Oracle customers to perform ad hoc query and analysis and take full advantage of all the latest BI and OLAP functionality within Excel."

With native connectivity, Oracle customers can easily and directly connect the latest version of Microsoft Excel to Oracle data cubes to gain advanced analytics. Simba's MDX 2005 Query Language technology, upon which the connectivity is based, is compliant with the latest MDX enhancements from Microsoft.

"The MDX 2005 Query Language is the key to gaining functionality with all the latest OLAP business intelligence and analytics applications like Excel 2007. This is a big win for both Oracle and Microsoft customers," added Rajan.

With direct Microsoft Excel 2007 connectivity to Oracle OLAP 11g, Oracle customers can upgrade to Microsoft's latest Excel version to take advantage of its enhanced dimensional and analytics capabilities.

Simba's BIWA Summit 2008 demonstrations will show IT/Oracle Administrators and Business Analysts how they can streamline, directly connect to and analyze their Oracle data from current OLAP tools like Excel. Simba will preview a new MDX 2005 Query Language provider that enables direct connectivity to Oracle OLAP 11g, enabling access and advanced functionality within applications like Excel 2007 Pivot Tables.

Simba representatives will be at the conference to provide demonstrations of native Excel 2007 connectivity to Oracle OLAP 11g. Simba, a BIWA Summit 2008 Gold Sponsor, will also present a conference session on December 2nd, highlighting functionality in Microsoft Excel 2007 Pivot Tables and explaining MDX 2005 Query Language connectivity options for Oracle OLAP for enhanced business intelligence. Simba will also demonstrate ad hoc query and reporting capabilities of Excel 2007 against Oracle OLAP.

"We're excited to have Simba involved in BIWA Summit 2008 and present new, simplified solutions for connecting popular applications like Excel to Oracle," said Dan Vlamis, Conference Chair for BIWA Summit 2008. "We are excited that they have chosen BIWA Summit 2008 to debut new technology."
