XAware has announced that founder and chief scientist Kirstan Vandersluis will be a featured speaker at the AJAXWorld RIA Conference & Expo to be held October 20-22, 2008 at the Fairmont San Jose Hotel in San Jose, Calif.

Rich Internet applications (RIA), Web-oriented architecture (WOA) and service-oriented architecture (SOA) share a common need to access and utilize a rationalized set of data services. Vandersluis will demonstrate how to create a data services layer that draws on both relational and non-relational data sources. This strategy will enable organizations to achieve reusability and flexibility in their RIA projects.
Kirstan Vandersluis is the founder and chief scientist of XAware, Inc. He has been instrumental in developing and patenting XAware's product suite and launching the XAware open source project (www.xaware.org). Vandersluis is a frequent speaker at software industry events. He is also the author of "XML-Based Integration with XAware," published in 2004 by Maximum Press. Vandersluis holds a BS in Computer Science from Michigan and an MS in Computer Science from University of Colorado.
