Quasar Technologies has launched Doc/Design Converter at AJAXWorld RIA Conference & Expo. This new product automatically converts InDesign files into MS Word documents and vice versa. It is a seamless and simple process as the users are only required to save the MS Word document or InDesign file in an input folder where it then disappears as it is being converted, and seconds later the converted file appears for them in an upload folder. The converted file is an exact replicate of the original with all geometries and text attributes preserved such as; colors, fonts, styles, tables, etc.
The Doc/Design Converter provides numerous benefits and time savings for the graphic/publishing industry. For example, InDesign is a graphic design tool that requires extensive training in order for users to be able to proficiently work with it. Because of this, it becomes restrictive for those users that are not familiar with working with it but, that are required to in order to complete their jobs. Now, regular users, freelancers, external users, etc. are able to work with MS Word as their layout tool by starting from the original InDesign file that has been converted into MSWord or, from starting directly from MS Word and then having a graphic layout artist continue in InDesign. In this way, the Doc/Design Converter also promotes dynamic and collaborative working amongst the users.
