Novell Betas Open Enterprise Server 2 SP1

New Beta Is Supposed to Bring Interoperability between Linux, Windows, Macintosh and NetWare to the Next Level

Novell has put Open Enterprise Server 2 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) out for public beta. Built on SUSE Linux, it’s supposed to bring interoperability between Linux, Windows, Macintosh and NetWare to the next level and function as an alternative to Microsoft.

The latest cut includes Domain Services for Windows for full Active Directory integration; enhanced Apple Filing Protocol (AFP) and Common Internet File System (CIFS) support for enterprise-class network scalability; and improved upgrade utilities to make deploying and managing Open Enterprise Server 2 easier.

See www.novell.com/beta. Pricing awaits general availability.
