Net Optics Selected as Global Hardware Partner for Prevalidated Server Solutions for Oracle(R) Real User Experience Insight

Regeneration Tap Featured in Oracle Monitoring Solution at Oracle OpenWorld 2008

SANTA CLARA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/24/08 -- Net Optics, Inc., a leading provider of network access devices, was selected by Oracle to supply a Regeneration Tap as a key element in Oracle's prevalidated server solution for Oracle® Real User Experience Insight. Oracle Real User Experience Insight uses state-of-the-art network protocol analysis technology to identify and resolve user experience issues and revenue problems in traditional Web-based as well as SOA and AJAX enabled applications -- before business and users are impacted.

Bob Shaw, Net Optics President and CEO, remarked, "Oracle Real User Experience Insight's use of non-intrusive monitoring technology takes full advantage of our Network TAP technology to deliver a passive user monitoring solution without negatively impacting user experience or application performance. The Net Optics Regeneration Tap is the perfect solution because it helps guarantee complete and non-intrusive access, while enabling multiple tools to monitor the exact same data streams. For example, an Oracle Real User Experience Insight data collector can be added to another port on the Regeneration Tap while security or performance monitoring tools continue to monitor the same link through other ports on the same Tap."

At Oracle OpenWorld 2008 (September 21-28 in San Francisco), Oracle will highlight this compelling monitoring solution that provides deeper insight into how end users experience Web sites. Mr. Shaw is speaking about how Oracle accelerates enterprise software infrastructure at the Intercontinental San Francisco Hotel, fifth floor, on September 25, 2008 at 9AM.

The Net Optics Regeneration Tap is a key element of the prevalidated server solution developed by Net Optics, Intel and Oracle as part of the Intel Enabled Server Acceleration Alliance (ESAA).

Oracle Vice President of Global Platform Alliances, Stephen Boyle observed, "We have chosen to work with first-tier industry hardware partners Intel and Net Optics to provide our customers the strong choices in network and server solutions; coupled with world class services for efficient deployments."

"Oracle Real User Experience Insight is a great example of an Intel® ESAA Recipe," said David L. Brown, General Manager of the Channel Partners Group, Intel. "It pulls together Intel servers, Oracle software, and a Net Optics Regeneration Tap in a solution that's easy to deploy and provides tremendous value to the customer. We hope users will take the opportunity to check out the hundreds of other Recipes at the Intel ESAA web site that provides drop-in solutions for needs ranging from security to server management and much more."

When building large, cloud-based applications that operate at a high scale, it’s important to maintain a high availability and resilience to failures. In order to do that, you must be tolerant of failures, even in light of failures in other areas of your application. “Fly two mistakes high” is an old adage in the radio control airplane hobby. It means, fly high enough so that if you make a mistake, you can continue flying with room to still make mistakes. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee Atchison, Principal Cloud Architect and Advocate at New Relic, will discuss how this same philosophy can be applied to highly scaled applications, and can dramatically increase your resilience to failure.
