Certeon Delivers Virtualization Appliance for Application Acceleration

Certeon Delivers Virtual Appliance for Application Acceleration to Run on Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V

Certeon announced that its aCelera Virtual Appliance software for application acceleration will be shipping with support for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V in its upcoming November 2008 release. This announcement is a continuation of a commitment Certeon made when it launched aCelera to end the era of proprietary application acceleration appliances.

Certeon's aCelera Virtual Appliance software delivers a greater than 95 percent reduction in application response time for applications being accessed across the wide area network (WAN), with the added benefit of eliminating the hardware footprint and high cost of separately managed single-purpose hardware appliances. Certeon's aCelera software resides inside virtualized data centers and branch offices resulting in increased manageability, scalability, user productivity, and lower total cost of ownership. With this announcement, Certeon is adding Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V to its supported virtualization environments. Further solidifying its strategic relationship with Microsoft, Certeon is a silver sponsor for the Microsoft Get Virtual Now launch event today.

"aCelera's support of Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V enables enterprises to maximize their investment in cost-effective virtualized environments," said Peter Dougherty, president and CEO of Certeon. "By incorporating acceleration into a virtualized infrastructure, aCelera helps businesses reduce operational costs, simplify the deployment of application acceleration, and enhance user productivity."

aCelera Virtual Appliance software is the union of virtualization and application acceleration delivering a combination of performance, scalability, flexibility, and easy management. aCelera is hypervisor-agnostic and supports high performance remote application access in mixed Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V and VMware environments. In addition, aCelera can be centrally managed and controlled through its compatibility with Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008--enabling IT managers to allocate and manage application performance resources from a single location.

"Certeon's ability to integrate its high-performance application solutions with support for Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V and the powerful management capabilities of System Center provides customers with new methods of maximizing the ROI from their virtual infrastructure investment," said Zane Adam, senior director of integrated virtualization at Microsoft.

aCelera improves the performance of all remotely accessed applications while turbo-charging such mission critical applications as enterprise content management, Web-based collaboration, and product life cycle management. aCelera Virtual Appliances are optimized to accelerate remote access to Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, as well as many other distributed applications. aCelera for Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V will be available in November 2008.
