AJAX RIA Load Testing: Isomorphic and SOASTA Partner
SmartClient Developers Can Now Stress-Test Applications on Hundreds of Servers
Aug. 22, 2008 08:30 AM
Isomorphic Software and SOASTA announced a partnership that will give AJAX developers the ability to conduct in-cloud performance and scalability testing of applications built on the SmartClient AJAX RIA Platform for just a few hundred dollars.
Isomorphic's SmartClient has been deployed across the globe, powering many of the most sophisticated enterprise RIAs ever created. A new, jointly-developed technology for testing of SmartClient applications allows the creation of robust test suites via an easy-to-use record-and-playback mechanism.
"Most testing tools in use today pre-date the emergence of AJAX, and when faced with an advanced AJAX technology, they create fragile tests that don't work cross-browser and break when minor changes are made," said Charles Kendrick, CTO of Isomorphic Software. "SOASTA and Isomorphic have created a bridge between CloudTest and SmartClient that creates extremely robust tests, so you can invest in a comprehensive test suite with confidence."
SOASTA provides on-demand and appliance-based solutions that enable developers to build highly scalable, real-world functional and load tests -- ensuring faster, more scalable and reliable web applications and services.
Recorded tests can be scaled up to hundreds of servers and tens of thousand of users via a simple, drag-and-drop user interface.
"CloudTest provides a very easy, inexpensive path to load testing. Using CloudTest, developers can demonstrate the performance and scalability benefits that SmartClient delivers," said Tom Lounibos, CEO of SOASTA. "If you'd like to do load testing but don't think you have the time or resources, you need to look into this solution."
