Advanced Millennium Technologies (AMT) has inked a partnership agreement with Lightstreamer. According to the agreement, AMT will distribute Lightstreamer push technology (COMET) products in the fast growing Indian Market. Lightstreamer is a push server for live data distribution based on the AJAX-Comet paradigm (also known as “AJAX Push”). In web development, COMET is a term used to describe a web application model in which a web server is able to push real-time data to a browser, based on a subscription paradigm. Lightstreamer is one of the oldest products used widely for COMET implementations.
In AMT's new product TAROBY, AMT plans to integrate Lightstreamer's COMET implementation for live message delivery and push functions for high performing collaboration functionalities. TAROBY - Team Automated Response Organization By You - is a web-based service that can be used to configure multiple email accounts and facilitate the sharing of mail accounts amongst team members. TAROBY can be used to create, manage and share messages online and access them anytime, from anywhere.
“The partnership with Lightstreamer was crucial. We believe COMET technology will play an integral part in the live content delivery of applications on the Internet. Lightstreamer is a pioneer in that domain and we are glad to be associated with them. The implementation of COMET technology will add a new dimension to the functionalities that TAROBY currently offers”, said director and co-founder of AMT, Aby Varghese.
Lightstreamer, also a member of the Open Ajax alliance, has been used in many mission-critical production systems, where scalability, low network impact, bandwidth management, adaptive streaming, and other advanced features, have proven fundamental.
“We are very satisfied with this partnership. AMT is a reliable and strategic partner for the Indian market, which is growing fast and is showing a rising interest in Lightstreamer. Furthermore, we are quite excited about the integration of Lightstreamer with Taroby, which will allow us to enter the Unified Messaging and Collaboration space”, said Alessandro Alinone, Chief Technology Officer and creator of Lightstreamer.
