MokaFive Brings Cross-Platform Virtualization Desktops to Market

MokaFive Virtual Desktop Solution Offers Centralized Management for IT Administrators

MokaFive announced the availability of the MokaFive Virtual Desktop Solution. Now, organizations have a cross-platform desktop virtualization offering that delivers the best of both worlds: the control of centralized management for IT administrators and the power and flexibility of rich, local execution for users.

"The arrival of virtualization on the desktop will change the way desktops have been managed and promises greater flexibility for the user," said Bill Demas, president and CEO, MokaFive. "We believe our MokaFive Virtual Desktop Solution is the first to bridge the chasm between what IT administrators need -- centralized management -- and what users want -- freedom in their computing environment. By offering our virtual desktops as a service, MokaFive is making it easier for companies to get up and running quickly."

Already deployed in nearly 50 pilots and downloaded more than 80,000 times, MokaFive Virtual Desktop Solution introduces several key industry firsts. Its virtual desktops, known as LivePCs, run on Windows, Macintosh and MokaFive's BareMetal Linux operating systems. LivePCs can be executed on laptops, desktops or even from portable storage devices such as a USB stick or iPod. This gives users the mobility to work in the office, home or on the road, online or offline -- securely at all times. LivePCs self-heal on every reboot and will self-destruct with unauthorized use.

Many of the world's largest hardware and software vendors are embracing the MokaFive Virtual Desktop Solution to help customers better manage their desktop and laptop computers.

"Intel has added MokaFive to our ISV developer program to collaborate and create enhanced capabilities with both our consumer and enterprise client platforms," said Etienne DeGroot, Director of Global Alliances for Intel. "Proof of concept efforts are underway to help deliver new user value that takes full advantage of our platform architecture further adding success to MokaFive's quest to deliver state of the art solutions."

"MokaFive's approach takes into consideration every step of the virtual desktop lifecycle," said Michael Rose, an analyst for market research firm IDC. "Desktop virtualization is not an easy technology to implement, so for it to see more uptake in the enterprise, it is critical that vendors lower the barriers to adoption. Focusing on the entire lifecycle of virtual desktops is an important starting point."

The MokaFive Difference
MokaFive Virtual Desktop Solution offers a comprehensive approach to desktop virtualization. Because it's delivered as a service, IT administrators do not need to manage or invest in new infrastructure. MokaFive Virtual Desktop Solution requires just a per-user subscription fee and can take advantage of existing web servers. Its differentiating features include:

  • Automated updates
  • Faster launches
  • Self-healing
  • Cross-platform and OS flexibility
  • Enhanced security with BareMetal

I would like to know if Etienne DeGroot is living in California? Is he the cousin of Erwin Bol?
I live in Holland now and would really like to contact him.

Could you please send him my questions?

Thank you ever so much,
