FalconStor announced FalconStor Storage Replication Adapter
(SRA) for VMware Site Recovery Manager. VMware Site Recovery Manager is a pioneering
product for disaster recovery management and automation. Part of VMware’s suite
of management and automation products for the datacenter, VMware Site Recovery
Manager simplifies business continuity planning and testing, and reduces the
risk and complexity associated with implementing disaster recovery.
- Application Snapshot Director complements Site Recovery Manager to ensure any active application data can be replicated in real time with full transactional integrity to remote Disaster Recovery sites
- MicroScan Thin Storage Replication uses the least amount of WAN bandwidth possible, providing further ongoing DR WAN infrastructure savings
- Support for local physical server failover into remote virtual machines, ensuring all virtual machines are recovered during a disaster while eliminating the costs of additional physical application server requirements for remote DR site equipment
- Snapshot Agents for business applications ensure extensive integrity checking after a DR event. Applications protected by FalconStor software running on both physical and virtual machines are always integrity- and DR failover-ready
- Thin provisioning of local and remote DR site storage reduces the overall storage acquisition costs and lowers long-term power consumption
