Solix Technologies announced that TIBCO has successfully
implemented Solix Enterprise Data Management Suite (Solix EDMS) for Oracle
database archiving to reduce the overall size of their production database,
increase application performance and lower total cost of data ownership.
TIBCO provides enterprise software that
helps companies achieve service-oriented architecture (SOA) and business
process management (BPM) success. With over 3,000 customers and offices in 20
countries, TIBCO has given organizations around the world better awareness and
agility–what TIBCO calls The Power of Now.
Maintaining good throughput for order entry, accounts receivable processing and
quarter end reporting is critical to ensuring TIBCO financial teams are not
impacted by software performance issues. Recognizing the effect of data growth
on throughout and reporting performance as well as the downstream implications
of maintaining a large production database in making clones for test and
development and Disaster Recovery copies, TIBCO undertook database archiving.
Database archiving is a proven technique to reduce the size of production
databases resulting in faster clones during migration, testing, development and
disaster recovery cycles and reducing storage costs throughout the entire IT
infrastructure.
“We are always looking at ways to optimize our core systems” said Alan Bianchi, Director of Financial Applications at TIBCO, “as we move to Linux and version migration, having a smaller data set will make the job easier and reduce risk. Further savings in data maintenance and storage while increasing performance make archiving a good choice moving forward.”
Using Solix Enterprise Data Archiving, TIBCO automated the process for archiving and purging of historical data from Oracle Financials. By implementing Solix Enterprise Data Archiving, TIBCO reduced the overall size of their production system, kept data growth in-check and improved the overall manageability of the system. By minimizing data growth, TIBCO will be able to lower storage costs and improve overall system and reporting performance.
Shekhar Dasgupta, President and COO of Solix Technologies, said, “Solix EDMS for Enterprise Data Archiving provides TIBCO the means to lower storage and data management costs and deliver optimal system performance to Its customers”
