First, the housekeeping. Here is a link to the slides for both of my presentations (both in Keynote 2008 format):
I want to thank everyone who showed up to share my enthusiasm for the iPhone as it is, what I believe, the mobile development platform to target. I also want to thank those people who tolerated my evasiveness and lack of detail during the SDK session. As I've said before, just because everybody else on the internet has no problem violating NDAs, when I click
"Agree", I know what I am agreeing to and I intend to stick to that agreement. As a result, my iPhone SDK session turned into a recap of Steve Jobs' March 6th keynote with a really quick introduction to Objective-C that did not do the language justice. Hopefully though, seeing the beauty of the iPhone's distribution channel and the power that will be available has convinced some people to go download the SDK and apply for the developer program.
Also, I want to thank everybody for putting up with my lack of CSS ability. In the slides for the web dev session you'll notice that the right-arrow for drilling down out of the edge-to-edge style is accompanied by the word "More" - as said during the session, that shouldn't be there but I couldn't get my CSS to display it properly. On the other hand, if you're using iUI, you should have no trouble whatsoever reproducing that display in accordance to the iPhone Human Interface Guidelines.
I had a fantastic time and I met a lot of fascinating people and I can't wait to see what kind of conferences we'll start seeing surrounding the iPhone when the distribution channel is opened up and people are free to share their code samples.
