JasperSoft Upgrades Open Source Business Intelligence Suite with AJAX

Features include advanced AJAX-based ad hoc charting and cross-tab analysis

JasperSoft Corporation has announced the general availability of JasperSoft Business Intelligence Suite version 2.1, an upgrade that makes the benefits of BI more accessible to more users. Version 2.1 is specifically focused on enhancing usability and end-user functionality, delivering on JasperSoft’s commitment to extend the value of business intelligence across the organization.

JasperSoft’s BI Suite 2.1 incorporates an innovative set of features designed to reduce the gap between data and discovery, including advanced AJAX-based ad hoc charting and cross-tab analysis; dashboarding capabilities that can be deployed via portals; data access security for data warehouses; and a significantly enhanced out-of-the-box experience that helps guide new users to faster productivity.

In addition to significant improvements to the user experience, JBIS programmability has been enhanced for extended embeddability for OEMs and Operational BI solutions. The modular Java architecture of JBIS has always been popular with developers seeking to enhance the analytic functionality of their applications, and JBIS 2.1 continues to add features to enhance embeddability, such as complete public Java and AJAX APIs, and Web services to manage scheduled reporting remotely.
