Infragistics Releases "Tangerine" - A Reference Application for Windows Presentation Foundation

Demonstrates cutting-edge user interface using Amazon Web services

Infragistics has released a free reference application for Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). Named Tangerine, the application employs best practices to help developers, enterprises, and e-commerce vendors experience and leverage the capabilities of the WPF platform such as vector-based graphics, subtle animation, and high-stylization capabilities. Built with Infragistics NetAdvantage for WPF, Tangerine demonstrates how companies can use WPF to quickly build custom applications.

Tangerine is a fictional bookstore that uses the Amazon catalog for the back-end data store and enterprise front-end WPF application. Using the Amazon E-Commerce Service as the data provider, Tangerine displays book selections using the NetAdvantage xamData Carousel , xamDataPresenter, xamCarouselPanel, and xamEditors.

Key features in Tangerine include:

  • Configurable Data Provider Model: Allows the application to quickly replace its data provider using the provider model.
  • Searching: Allows the user to search for assets in all catalogues or inside a particular catalogue.
  • Browsing: Allows the user to browse through the catalogues and sub-categories and displays the top items in a more detailed view.
  • Highlights: Displays the top items in each catalog and displays them in a summary format when the application first opens up.
  • Multiple Item Views: Includes two views to show search/browse results in different styles (glance and list.)
