It's a great time to be an AJAX or Rich Internet Application developer. Backbase, for example – which is growing quickly – is constantly on the lookout for talented people to join its team. At AJAXWorld 2007 East in March of this year, the company was looking for Senior AJAX Consultants in San Mateo and Amsterdam to deliver its consulting and training services.The same is true of many of the other sponsors and exhibitors at the upcoming AJAXWorld 2007 West, many of whom are looking to hire rich internet applications and AJAX developers, including for example AJAXWorld Platinum Sponsor Cynergy Systems which is also experiencing rapid growth.

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Description: The position, Senior Software Engineer is an excellent opportunity for an experienced C++ developer to be part of the design, development and release of a next-generation service platform for web development and delivery. The candidate will be working within a highly talented motivated team of fellow software engineers in an R&D / Start-up environment having the responsibility of creating and releasing a product! Our engineers are highly respected among the top developers in the region. This challenging role will involve every aspect of the application lifecycle with varying levels of management involvement. Technical Skills:
•Rock-solid design, coding, and debugging skills
•Strong C/C++ programming skills (at least 5+ years of professional C++ development experience)
•Solid structured programming skills
•Compiler and/or language theory and experience a big plus
•Experience organizing and maintaining complex data structures
•Deep understanding of object oriented programming methodologies and hierarchies
•Expert with web services and scaleable architectures
•Experienced with Apache, Internet Explorer, Firefox, and one or more application server technologies (e.g. BEA, Web Sphere, or other…)
•Comfortable developing in both Linux and Windows environments
Professional Skills:
•5-8 years as a software engineer, showing progressing levels of responsibility including specification and architectural design
•Clear passion for leading and influencing quality product-wide
•Comfortable with limited direction and able to self motivate and take initiative
•Comfortable knowing when to figure it out yourself and when to look to your peers for guidance
•Good interpersonal and communication skills
•Demonstrated creative problem solving skills
•Ability to work both independently and with a team
•Ability to learn new technical skills
•Ability to work effectively with an existing large and expanding code base
•Must have a sense of ownership of the “bigger picture” of what’s being developed.
Educational Skills:
•Bachelors in CS (or related field) required. MS preferred
