Thirty percent of AJAX developers say they will enable end-user mash-up development within the year, according to a new report to be released April 16 by Evans Data. The company's newest report, known as the 2007 AJAX Development Survey, demonstrates that growth will come not just from people integrating data, but also from enabling business processes engaging in such mash-ups. “Our research definitely substantiates that mash ups have huge implications to business applications”, said John F. Andrews, CEO of Evans Data Corporation. “Being able to break down barriers between applications and data to enable a more personalized, role-based set of software is extremely valuable both internally and externally.”
Other findings from the responses of nearly 400 AJAX developers in the AJAX Development Survey:
• Twenty-eight percent of respondents see an increase in AJAX adoption of 50% or more, while another 25% estimate an increase of about 30%.
• On average, respondents are using AJAX for more than two different kinds of applications.
