"As consumers depend more on the Internet to find real estate, more emphasis is placed on technology, functionality and usability of real estate web sites. We were determined from the outset to make the Beacham and Company website be the preferred destination for both Atlanta home buyers and sellers. The Beacham and Company website utilizes the latest advances in web technologies to make finding a home easier and more efficient", states Glennis Beacham.
"After researching the top real estate websites in the country, we were surprised to find that even major real estate companies still used older technology in their websites. The Beacham and Company site employs technologies such as AJAX and DHTML to make property searches more dynamic and efficient. Search criteria can be changed and refreshed dynamically without complete page refreshes. CSS and XML are used for layout making the pages display up to 50% faster than the older technology sites so end users aren't waiting around for the pages to display ", states Fred Tanzella, Chairman of Glick Interactive, the developers of the Beacham and Company site.
"We used Microsoft Virtual Earth to allow our users to zoom into a map, select search criteria and see pushpins where properties meeting their criteria are located. Users can rollover a pushpin to see information about the property and click to view the details. Using the bird's eye view, users can see highly detailed aerial photos taken from low flying planes that give panoramic views of the property from multiple compass angles. The views are amazing. Users can see for the first time what the property and surrounding neighborhood looks from an outdoor perspective before actually driving to see the property in person. If they like what they see, the Beacham and Company site provides turn-by-turn driving directions to the property", said Glennis Beacham.
"Tools such as our floating Quick Search allow users to quickly change criteria or look up a house they've seen from a real estate sign. Users can select an agent to assist in buying or selling their homes, and communicate their preferences online. Our agents can recommend homes that meet their customer's needs and users can save their favorite properties and searches. We use large photos for both the thumbnails in the property results and property details to give users the best views of the properties. Even the thumbnails in the search results rotate through all the property photos giving users a better idea of what each property has to offer. We believe that once home buyers and sellers come the Beacham and Company website, they will be pleased with the experience", Glennis Beacham states.
