Ingenico Group, FreedomPay and ScanSource Consortium Power the First PCI-Certified P2PE and EMV Payment Solution in North America

ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/19/14 -- Ingenico Group (EURONEXT: FR0000125346-ING), global leader in seamless payment, has joined with FreedomPay®, a state-of-the-art commerce platform and payment processor, and ScanSource, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCSC), the leading international value-added distributor of specialty technology products, to release the first Payment Card Industry (PCI)-certified, fully-functional, point-to-point encryption (P2PE) payment solution in North America.

Leveraging secure devices, applications and processes -- Ingenico's On-Guard and the FreedomPay Commerce Platform™ -- the joint solution offers retailers one of the most secure payment solutions available in North America. ScanSource will provide FreedomPay with product support, integration, staging and deployment services around the solution. The solution covers electronic payments made by magnetic stripe, EMV and NFC, and will be the first to provide PIN Debit and even hand-keyed transactions. According to the PCI Security Standards Council, only Council-listed P2PE solutions are recognized as meeting the requirements necessary for merchants to reduce the scope of their cardholder data environment through use of a P2PE solution.

"Security is a critical part of Ingenico's business DNA. We have three decades of experience providing the most advanced card data security solutions in the payments market," said Gregory Boardman, Senior Vice President of Software and Development at Ingenico, North America. "Our new consortium with FreedomPay and ScanSource provides retailers with a PCI-certified P2PE solution. In the fight against fraud, there are no greater technologies than EMV and encryption. This powerful combination has been proven to reduce card data compromise at the point-of-sale. When retailers can focus on their core business without wondering if their customers' data is secure, the result is real value for the merchant."

OTG is among the first customers to successfully use the newly certified security platform. Recently named to the World's 50 Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company, OTG operates more than 200 airport food and beverage restaurants and eateries in ten of the largest airports in North America.

"We selected Ingenico Group and FreedomPay because of their independently proven track records. Data theft is a reality in the retail business and we wanted the most secure solution available. This is the only option with full certification," said Albert Lee, Chief Technology Officer at OTG. "Being able to leverage one device over one processing platform to securely accept traditional credit cards, NFC, mobile and EMV is the best solution for our international business clientele."

"There is a lot of misinformation in the market today regarding payment security standards. The FreedomPay solution is the best option for merchants looking to prevent breaches and ensure their capital investments are ready for future payment technologies such as EMV and NFC," said Tom Durovsik, CEO of FreedomPay. "We have even gone the extra mile, ensuring merchants can accept hand-keyed or phone-based orders, and still preserve the ability to type in a card number if the magnetic stripe is bad... all the while helping reduce the scope of a merchant's cardholder data environment."

@CloudExpo Stories
DevOps is being widely accepted (if not fully adopted) as essential in enterprise IT. But as Enterprise DevOps gains maturity, expands scope, and increases velocity, the need for data-driven decisions across teams becomes more acute. DevOps teams in any modern business must wrangle the ‘digital exhaust’ from the delivery toolchain, "pervasive" and "cognitive" computing, APIs and services, mobile devices and applications, the Internet of Things, and now even blockchain. In this power panel at @...

In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Claude Remillard, Principal Program Manager in Developer Division at Microsoft, contrasted how his team used config as code and immutable patterns for continuous delivery of microservices and apps to the cloud. He showed how the immutable patterns helps developers do away with most of the complexity of config as code-enabling scenarios such as rollback, zero downtime upgrades with far greater simplicity. He also demoed building immutable pipelines in the cloud ...

While many government agencies have embraced the idea of employing cloud computing as a tool for increasing the efficiency and flexibility of IT, many still struggle with large scale adoption. The challenge is mainly attributed to the federated structure of these agencies as well as the immaturity of brokerage and governance tools and models. Initiatives like FedRAMP are a great first step toward solving many of these challenges but there are a lot of unknowns that are yet to be tackled. In hi...
With the proliferation of both SQL and NoSQL databases, organizations can now target specific fit-for-purpose database tools for their different application needs regarding scalability, ease of use, ACID support, etc. Platform as a Service offerings make this even easier now, enabling developers to roll out their own database infrastructure in minutes with minimal management overhead. However, this same amount of flexibility also comes with the challenges of picking the right tool, on the right ...
The cloud market growth today is largely in public clouds. While there is a lot of spend in IT departments in virtualization, these aren’t yet translating into a true “cloud” experience within the enterprise. What is stopping the growth of the “private cloud” market? In his general session at 18th Cloud Expo, Nara Rajagopalan, CEO of Accelerite, explored the challenges in deploying, managing, and getting adoption for a private cloud within an enterprise. What are the key differences between wh...
One of the hottest areas in cloud right now is DRaaS and related offerings. In his session at 16th Cloud Expo, Dale Levesque, Disaster Recovery Product Manager with Windstream's Cloud and Data Center Marketing team, will discuss the benefits of the cloud model, which far outweigh the traditional approach, and how enterprises need to ensure that their needs are properly being met.
WebRTC has had a real tough three or four years, and so have those working with it. Only a few short years ago, the development world were excited about WebRTC and proclaiming how awesome it was. You might have played with the technology a couple of years ago, only to find the extra infrastructure requirements were painful to implement and poorly documented. This probably left a bitter taste in your mouth, especially when things went wrong.
Up until last year, enterprises that were looking into cloud services usually undertook a long-term pilot with one of the large cloud providers, running test and dev workloads in the cloud. With cloud’s transition to mainstream adoption in 2015, and with enterprises migrating more and more workloads into the cloud and in between public and private environments, the single-provider approach must be revisited. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Yoav Mor, multi-cloud solution evangelist at Cloudy...
The proper isolation of resources is essential for multi-tenant environments. The traditional approach to isolate resources is, however, rather heavyweight. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Igor Drobiazko, co-founder of elastic.io, drew upon his own experience with operating a Docker container-based infrastructure on a large scale and present a lightweight solution for resource isolation using microservices. He also discussed the implementation of microservices in data and application integrat...
Containers have changed the mind of IT in DevOps. They enable developers to work with dev, test, stage and production environments identically. Containers provide the right abstraction for microservices and many cloud platforms have integrated them into deployment pipelines. DevOps and containers together help companies achieve their business goals faster and more effectively. In his session at DevOps Summit, Ruslan Synytsky, CEO and Co-founder of Jelastic, reviewed the current landscape of Dev...
In his General Session at DevOps Summit, Asaf Yigal, Co-Founder & VP of Product at Logz.io, will explore the value of Kibana 4 for log analysis and will give a real live, hands-on tutorial on how to set up Kibana 4 and get the most out of Apache log files. He will examine three use cases: IT operations, business intelligence, and security and compliance. This is a hands-on session that will require participants to bring their own laptops, and we will provide the rest.
IoT is at the core or many Digital Transformation initiatives with the goal of re-inventing a company's business model. We all agree that collecting relevant IoT data will result in massive amounts of data needing to be stored. However, with the rapid development of IoT devices and ongoing business model transformation, we are not able to predict the volume and growth of IoT data. And with the lack of IoT history, traditional methods of IT and infrastructure planning based on the past do not app...
"We're bringing out a new application monitoring system to the DevOps space. It manages large enterprise applications that are distributed throughout a node in many enterprises and we manage them as one collective," explained Kevin Barnes, President of eCube Systems, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at DevOps at 18th Cloud Expo, held June 7-9, 2016, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.

Updating DevOps to the latest production data slows down your development cycle. Probably it is due to slow, inefficient conventional storage and associated copy data management practices. In his session at @DevOpsSummit at 20th Cloud Expo, Dhiraj Sehgal, in Product and Solution at Tintri, will talk about DevOps and cloud-focused storage to update hundreds of child VMs (different flavors) with updates from a master VM in minutes, saving hours or even days in each development cycle. He will also...
"There's a growing demand from users for things to be faster. When you think about all the transactions or interactions users will have with your product and everything that is between those transactions and interactions - what drives us at Catchpoint Systems is the idea to measure that and to analyze it," explained Leo Vasiliou, Director of Web Performance Engineering at Catchpoint Systems, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 18th Cloud Expo, held June 7-9, 2016, at the Javits Center in New York Ci...
