GreenBytes IO Offload Engine Is Verified as Citrix Ready

VDI Storage Optimization Appliance Enables Persistent Virtual Desktops; Trusted to Enhance Citrix Networking and Virtualization Solutions

PROVIDENCE, RI -- (Marketwired) -- 04/02/14 -- GreenBytes®, Inc., a developer of full-featured desktop virtualization storage optimization software, today announced that its IO Offload Engine, a high performance storage appliance purpose-built to enable low cost persistent desktops, has been verified as Citrix Ready®. The Citrix Ready program helps customers identify third-party solutions that are recommended to enhance virtualization, networking and cloud computing solutions from Citrix. The IO Offload Engine completed a rigorous verification process to ensure compatibility with Citrix XenDesktop®, providing confidence in joint solution compatibility.

The Citrix Ready program makes it easy for customers to identify complementary products and solutions that can enhance Citrix environments. Customers can be confident that GreenBytes' IO Offload Engine has successfully passed a series of tests established by Citrix, and can be trusted to work effectively with XenDesktop to achieve highly performant, persistent virtual desktops without complicated workarounds, and at the lowest cost per user, providing customers with a streamlined VDI implementation that offers a cost-effective, fully persistent virtual desktop user experience.

GreenBytes' IO Offload Engine appears as a standard NFS or iSCSI storage target and doesn't require extra server software, incremental server hardware or additional administration. With its patented zero latency inline deduplication, the IO Offload Engine processes IO events at full SSD flash speeds while reducing the media required to service the storage footprint, without introducing latency in the process. By utilizing the IO Offload Engine, users are given the virtual desktop experience they expect and demand, all with the ability to effectively scale as GreenBytes cost savings and exceptional performance enable VDI deployments to scale into the 1000s or 10,000s of users.

"GreenBytes addresses the complex problem of making persistent virtual desktops a cost-effective option with elegance and simplicity. As a member of the Citrix Ready program, GreenBytes is able to offer customers an intelligent VDI storage solution that combines our award-winning IO Offload Engine with the Citrix XenDesktop product," said Michael Richtberg, VP of Product Management at GreenBytes. "The offering clearly demonstrates our plans to work closely with trusted partners, through the Citrix Ready partner ecosystem, in order to provide the highest quality experience for our customers at price points under $100 per user."
