Haroon Mokhtarzada, CEO of Freewebs offered, ''One message we've heard loud and clear is that people creating websites want their sites to be seen, they want more visitors. We are making that a big part of our focus.''
Freewebs' new look utilizes AJAX technology and modern UI design to streamline the user experience and bring member-created content to the forefront. Leveraging people clouds, tag clouds, enhanced search and prominent content promotions on the homepage and other key screens, the new site celebrates the members and is a step forward in Freewebs' commitment to increasing the visibility of their sites, helping to introduce members' sites to the more than 17 million unique visitors who visit Freewebs sites.
Shervin Pishevar, President of Freewebs explained, ''This is an important day in the history of Freewebs. We are combining our immensely popular Web publishing tools with a new and unique interface that encourages visitors to explore the millions of other sites created by Freewebs members. We are, for the first time, opening the curtain to our millions of sites and connecting 12 million individual members into a true and diverse community.''
Since its inception, the company has committed to delivering a simple and complete toolset to empower members to create a high-quality web presence. Relying upon its “listen-and-learn” philosophy, Freewebs continuously collects member input to prioritize the next features to be delivered. Today’s announcement furthers the company’s commitment to providing members with the latest site-building features, tools and widgets, all the while ensuring they are simple to use.
Specific new features available include:
- Add YouTube Video in a Single Click: Freewebs has added a new “Video Injector” that allows users to insert videos from the popular YouTube site to their Freewebs site with a single mouse click, without leaving their Freewebs page.
- Design Made Simple: Users can choose from hundreds of templates in the new tag-based and searchable template picker. AJAX technology makes it a smooth and fun experience.
Create Only Once: Import tools allow users to further centralize their online presence without having to recreate content. Email contacts, blog entries and profiles from other leading Web properties can be imported to Freewebs simply by providing a username and password.
