Welcome to the New DocuSign Experience!

Over a year ago, my team and I decided to challenge a common trend in business applications—namely how they tend to be slow, complex, ugly and just painful to use. “It doesn’t have to be this way,” we thought. So we got to work designing an experience that is easier, faster, and more intuitive than ever.

The team spent countless late nights refining every detail and incorporating customer feedback.  Now, it is my great pleasure to announce that the New DocuSign Experience, the next generation of the DocuSign user experience, is live and available to all customers!

Here are a few highlights of the New DocuSign Experience:

Re-envisioned, Centralized Dashboard

We’re so proud of the new DocuSign dashboard. The uncluttered layout brings the most important information front and center. Right from the dashboard, you can check document status at a glance, prepare files for sending, manage your documents and templates, and more.

Streamlined Sending Experience

The sending process is more intuitive and effortless to use than ever. Drag and drop files directly from your computer to upload them, drag recipients into place to match your workflow, and send individualized private messages to each participant. Based on user feedback, we also moved advanced options (like reminders and expirations) to the footer—out of the way, but there if you need them. Simplified screens and reduced number of steps means you can send documents with minimal time and effort!

You Control Your Starting Date

All Individual accounts will automatically be in the New DocuSign Experience, but users have the option to switch to the Classic DocuSign Experience if desired. For plans with more than one user, we’re giving DocuSign admins the power to switch to the New DocuSign Experience whenever they want, but opting in is completely optional. Choose to enable the new experience for an entire account or for specific users whenever the company is ready. Watch this video to learn how to switch your account to the new experience.

I’m excited to see how the New DocuSign Experience will empower our users to keep transactions digital and delight customers with a great experience. We’d love to hear your DocuStories about the New DocuSign Experience – please email them to us at [email protected].

The New DocuSign Experience is the culmination of a true cross-team effort concentrating on the end-to-end experience for all users.  I’m so proud of the team!

-Michael Strickland

P.S. I asked some of my teammates to share what they’re most proud of about the New DocuSign Experience:

"Overall I’m most proud of our team for making this a reality. I’m also proud of our progressive visual design language and simplified user experience. “ – Melissa, Art Director

“The New DocuSign Experience is a BIG step towards elegant simplicity. In both form and function, the new experience takes us closer to the gold standard exemplified by Apple and Steve Jobs.” - Amy, Sr. Technical Writer

“Maybe my favorite is the button on each item in the Document List that jumps you right into the primary action, like signing a document that’s waiting for you or reminding a recipient who you’re waiting to hear from.” – Jonathan, User Experience Design Lead

“I really love the color scheme. It's very relaxing and when I use the app I feel like I'm floating in a vast, safe ocean.” – Eric, Software Engineer

“What I'm most proud of: Getting to work with some amazing people – Dev, API, Product, QA, UX. The new experience is a result of some fantastic collaboration.” – Roshan, Sr. Software Engineer

“I am, above all else, most proud of the collaborations across the various teams to build this wonderful thing. Many of my favorite moments have involved a whiteboard and an amalgam of proficiencies, all staring down some hard problem or another.” – Sean, Director of User Experience

“The whole thing: The technology, the design, the team, the business impact. It is possible to make great enterprise software with the best technology and the best processes and the smartest people.” – Ben, Creative Director

“I loved working with our Beta customers. They were deeply engaged and gave us incredibly helpful feedback. It was exciting to see how their input – from workflow to word choice to color (and everything in between) – helped shape the next generation of DocuSign.” – Eve, Sr. Product Marketing Manager

SaaS companies can greatly expand revenue potential by pushing beyond their own borders. The challenge is how to do this without degrading service quality. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Adam Rogers, Managing Director at Anexia, discussed how IaaS providers with a global presence and both virtual and dedicated infrastructure can help companies expand their service footprint with low “go-to-market” costs.
You are moving to the Cloud. The question is not if, it’s when. Now that your competitors are in the cloud and lapping you, your “when” better hurry up and get here. But saying and doing are two different things. In his session at @DevOpsSummit at 18th Cloud Expo, Robert Reeves, CTO of Datical, explained how DevOps can be your onramp to the cloud. By adopting simple, platform independent DevOps strategies, you can accelerate your move to the cloud. Spoiler Alert: He also makes sure you don’t...
What does it look like when you have access to cloud infrastructure and platform under the same roof? Let’s talk about the different layers of Technology as a Service: who cares, what runs where, and how does it all fit together. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Phil Jackson, Lead Technology Evangelist at SoftLayer, an IBM company, spoke about the picture being painted by IBM Cloud and how the tools being crafted can help fill the gaps in your IT infrastructure.
Cloud computing is being adopted in one form or another by 94% of enterprises today. Tens of billions of new devices are being connected to The Internet of Things. And Big Data is driving this bus. An exponential increase is expected in the amount of information being processed, managed, analyzed, and acted upon by enterprise IT. This amazing is not part of some distant future - it is happening today. One report shows a 650% increase in enterprise data by 2020. Other estimates are even higher....

Creating replica copies to tolerate a certain number of failures is easy, but very expensive at cloud-scale. Conventional RAID has lower overhead, but it is limited in the number of failures it can tolerate. And the management is like herding cats (overseeing capacity, rebuilds, migrations, and degraded performance). A strange thing is happening along the way to the Internet of Things, namely far too many devices to work with and manage. It has become clear that we'll need much higher efficiency user experiences that can allow us to more easily and scalably work with the thousands of devices that will soon be in each of our lives. Enter the conversational interface revolution, combining bots we can literally talk with, gesture to, and even direct with our thoughts, with embedded artificial intelligence, wh...

In his Day 2 Keynote at @ThingsExpo, Henrik Kenani Dahlgren, Portfolio Marketing Manager at Ericsson, discussed how to plan to cooperate, partner, and form lasting all-star teams to change t...
The cloud market growth today is largely in public clouds. While there is a lot of spend in IT departments in virtualization, these aren’t yet translating into a true “cloud” experience within the enterprise. In his general session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee Atchison, Principal Cloud Architect and Advocate at New Relic, discussed cloud as a ‘better data center’ and how it adds new capacity (faster) and improves application availability (redundancy). The cloud is a ‘Dynamic Tool for Dynamic Apps’ and resource allocation is an integral part of your application architecture, so use only the resources you need and allocate /de-allocate resources on the fly.
More and more companies are looking to microservices as an architectural pattern for breaking apart applications into more manageable pieces so that agile teams can deliver new features quicker and more effectively. What this pattern has done more than anything to date is spark organizational transformations, setting the foundation for future application development. In practice, however, there are a number of considerations to make that go beyond simply “build, ship, and run,” which changes ho...
