The Modustri HDE Suite was designed for inspectors, sales reps, and fleet managers and puts the power to create value in their hands.

"The inability to perform on-site inspections quickly and accurately is a problem that for years has hampered heavy equipment dealers' ability to spend enough face-time with their customers," said Brian Steketee, Founder of Modustri.  "The Modustri HDE Suite is a solution to this problem.  We've developed groundbreaking technology that will help dealers and their sales teams get out from behind their desks and increase the amount of time they spend with their clients, building trust and converting field visits into sales."

"At the same time, the Modustri HDE Suite allows end-customers to plan effectively for repairs or parts replacement, resulting in less equipment downtime."

HOW THE MODUSTRI HDE SUITE WORKS
The Modustri HDE Suite is comprised of hardware and software. The hardware, the Wear Management Device (WMD), clips to an iPad mini and seamlessly links with the Suite's software.  The software includes the HDE Inspection Application and HDE Inspection Manager (web portal). The combined capabilities streamline the inspection and sales processes.

A cloud database and Application Programming Interface (API) make it possible. The database feeds pre-loaded wear tables and accurately calculates wear percentages. The API is the communications highway linking everything together and assuring simplified integration with existing databases.

HOW THE MODUSTRI HDE SUITE DELIVERS VALUE
Accurate Measurements & Complete Perspective. The HDE Suite provides accurate measurements every time and keeps historical records for a precise analysis of equipment performance.

Faster Inspections. Field-testing has shown a 50% reduction in inspection time with the HDE Suite, affording time to conduct more inspections, which lead to new opportunities.

Immediate Results & Follow-Through. Inspection results are sent via e-mail to customers directly from the HDE Inspection Application and sync in real-time with the HDE Inspection Manager so the office can generate quotes ASAP.

Enhanced Reporting. More detail and more accurate results equal greater insight into and control over the undercarriage lifecycle and associated costs. The HDE Suite generates reports dynamically and in real-time for sharing with management and sales teams.

Product Training. Intelligence gathered directly from the field was paired with best user experience practices to assure all Modustri HDE products are intuitive and easy to use.

Convenience & Customization. The HDE Suite integrates with a user's database system to import and auto-populate existing data. The platform can be customized to be company specific.

FUTURE APPLICATIONS
The Modustri HDE Suite has the potential to address the needs of a multitude of industries with precision measurement needs. Modustri can help the oil and gas industry predict and prevent corroding pipelines and oil tanks.  Modustri can also benefit public infrastructure by extending the life of aging systems such as bridges, rail and roadways, power plants, sewage systems, or undersea communications cables.

MODUSTRI AT CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014
Modustri HDE Suite Beta will officially launch at the upcoming CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014 in Las Vegas.  The Modustri exhibition will be located in the Las Vegas Hotel & Casino at Suite LTE 460.

"Matrix is an ambitious open standard and implementation that's set up to break down the fragmentation problems that exist in IP messaging and VoIP communication," explained John Woolf, Technical Evangelist at Matrix, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at @ThingsExpo, held Nov 4–6, 2014, at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
Connected devices and the Internet of Things are getting significant momentum in 2014. In his session at Internet of @ThingsExpo, Jim Hunter, Chief Scientist & Technology Evangelist at Greenwave Systems, examined three key elements that together will drive mass adoption of the IoT before the end of 2015. The first element is the recent advent of robust open source protocols (like AllJoyn and WebRTC) that facilitate M2M communication. The second is broad availability of flexible, cost-effective ...
How do APIs and IoT relate? The answer is not as simple as merely adding an API on top of a dumb device, but rather about understanding the architectural patterns for implementing an IoT fabric. There are typically two or three trends: Exposing the device to a management framework Exposing that management framework to a business centric logic Exposing that business layer and data to end users. This last trend is the IoT stack, which involves a new shift in the separation of what stuff happe...
The Internet of Things will put IT to its ultimate test by creating infinite new opportunities to digitize products and services, generate and analyze new data to improve customer satisfaction, and discover new ways to gain a competitive advantage across nearly every industry. In order to help corporate business units to capitalize on the rapidly evolving IoT opportunities, IT must stand up to a new set of challenges. When an enterprise builds a hybrid IaaS cloud connecting its data center to one or more public clouds, security is often a major topic along with the other challenges involved. Security is closely intertwined with the networking choices made for the hybrid cloud. Traditional networking approaches for building a hybrid cloud try to kludge together the enterprise infrastructure with the public cloud. Consequently this approach requires risky, deep "surgery" including changes to firewalls, subnets...
DevOps is all about agility. However, you don't want to be on a high-speed bus to nowhere. The right DevOps approach controls velocity with a tight feedback loop that not only consists of operational data but also incorporates business context. With a business context in the decision making, the right business priorities are incorporated, which results in a higher value creation. In his session at DevOps Summit, Todd Rader, Solutions Architect at AppDynamics, discussed key monitoring techniques...
Want to enable self-service provisioning of application environments in minutes that mirror production? Can you automatically provide rich data with code-level detail back to the developers when issues occur in production? In his session at DevOps Summit, David Tesar, Microsoft Technical Evangelist on Microsoft Azure and DevOps, will discuss how to accomplish this and more utilizing technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Visual Studio online, and Application Insights in this demo-heavy session.

The Domain Name Service (DNS) is one of the most important components in networking infrastructure, enabling users and services to access applications by translating URLs (names) into IP addresses (numbers). Because every icon and URL and all embedded content on a website requires a DNS lookup loading complex sites necessitates hundreds of DNS queries. In addition, as more internet-enabled ‘Things' get connected, people will rely on DNS to name and find their fridges, toasters and toilets. Acco...
The term culture has had a polarizing effect among DevOps supporters. Some propose that culture change is critical for success with DevOps, but are remiss to define culture. Some talk about a DevOps culture but then reference activities that could lead to culture change and there are those that talk about culture change as a set of behaviors that need to be adopted by those in IT. There is no question that businesses successful in adopting a DevOps mindset have seen departmental culture change, ...
