ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., Feb. 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cambium Networks™, a global leading provider of wireless broadband solutions, today debuted C3 VoIP-150, a new analog telephone adaptor (ATA) that connects analog telephones to a digital voice-over-IP (VoIP) telephone system. Service providers currently using ePMP and PMP 450 can seamlessly integrate this new hardware in their networks to offer subscribers VoIP service and realize a new revenue stream.
"As a long-term customer of Cambium Networks, we are thrilled to be able to offer our users a new service through C3 VoIP-150 that will improve their telephone experience and allow them to continue using the phones they already own," said Kevin Grace, CTO and co-founder, Nextlink Broadband. "We have been pleased with our investment in Cambium Networks equipment since day one, and this addition to its portfolio helps us reach more customers and organically grow our business."
C3 VoIP-150 is the first ATA in Cambium Networks' portfolio. Like its field-proven, wireless broadband solutions, C3 VoIP-150's specifications ensure a superior end-user experience:
- Two voice ports support separate phone lines, thereby connecting legacy telephones to IP-based networks.
- Secure and automated provisioning using HTTP/HTTPS/TFTP allows flexible configuration and provisioning options.
- Dynamic network monitoring reduces jitter artifacts such as packet loss in offering clear, interference-free voice quality.
- Advanced call features include three-way conferencing, call hold and call forwarding.
- Comprehensive voice codecs support G.711, G.722, G.723 and G.729A/B and allow providers to be compatible with different VoIP platforms.
By interfacing seamlessly with ePMP and PMP 450 through a point of Ethernet (PoE) connection, C3 VoIP-150 easily and economically bridges the gap between existing Cambium Networks equipment and standard telephones. It ensures the highest priority for voice transmission, ensuring excellent audio quality for service providers, enterprises, telephone operators and WISPs deploying this turnkey solution.
"We understand service providers' need to offer new services to remain competitive and increase their revenue per user. C3 VoIP-150 fulfills this need, gracefully merging new VoIP and existing analog technology for operators and end users," said Scott Imhoff, VP of product management, Cambium Networks. "Having tested and certified the network with a number of VoIP providers, we are confident in the C3 VoIP 150's ability to provide superior service and voice quality across fixed wireless broadband networks. We look forward to hearing feedback from our customers on this new product, and will incorporate this in future releases."
C3 VoIP-150, ePMP, PTP 650 and PMP 450 will be exhibited tomorrow at Cambium Networks' booth at Animal Farm 8 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
