Intelligent Converters Released MSSQL-to-MySQL v6.1

Moscow, Russia, May 21, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Intelligent Converters released new version of MSSQL-to-MySQL, a program to migrate Microsoft SQL databases to MySQL server, enhanced with custom type mapping feature.

Both Microsoft SQL and MySQL database management systems have similar set of data types. Previous versions of MSSQL-to-MySQL converter automatically found the appropriate match for each type being converted. But what if the user need to change the type of certain columns in the resulting MySQL database? Until now, this task required tedious manual post-processing after the program completes conversion. That's why Intelligent Converters enhanced a new version of MSSQL-to-MySQL with the option to customize type mapping. This feature allows users to change name, type and other attributes of every column during the conversion process.

"Our company is constantly expanding software capabilities to enable ultimate flexibility of the conversion process," said Vladimir Bilyak, CEO of Intelligent Converters. "Custom type mapping is the last step of this stairway, since it gives a user complete control over the data migration."

What's new in v6.1:
- Option to customize field mapping (modify name, type, default values for every column);
- Improved conversion of views

Other features of MSSQL-to-MySQL:
- Migrates Microsoft SQL databases to MySQL server or into a local MySQL dump file;
- Option to convert partial data using SELECT-queries;
- Option to synchronize existing MySQL tables with MS SQL data;
- Command line support allows to script, automate and schedule the conversion process;
- Converts indexes with all necessary attributes and relationships between tables;
- Convert MS SQL views into MySQL format;
- Stores conversion settings into profile;
- Supports multibyte character sets;
- All versions of Windows and Unix/Linux MySQL are supported;
- All versions of Microsoft SQL are supported starting from 7.0

Pricing and Availability

MSSQL-to-MySQL is available directly from Intelligent Converters and a network of resellers worldwide. The product is distributed on the Try Before You Buy model, customers can test quality of data conversion using free demo version. Demo version converts only five records per table and does not convert foreign keys, all other features are similar to the full version. The price starts at $49 for single-user license that allows to install the product on exactly one computer. Other types of licenses are Corporate, Developer and Redistribution. About Intelligent Converters

Intelligent Converters is a software development company entered the market in 2001. Since then the company has been specializing in data access and conversion techniques. The main two goals of their products are: fast access to the data and conversion with a minimum loss of information (e.g. formatting properties for text documents or field attributes for databases). Intelligent Converters software is well-known all around the world. It is databases converters for DBase (.dbf), Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL, IBM DB2, PostgreSQL and export tools for Adobe PDF to convert data into Microsoft Word, HTML, plain text, Microsoft Excel and XML. All of the products are easy to use yet powerful enough to guarantee the best quality of the conversion process.

CloudEXPO Stories
With more than 30 Kubernetes solutions in the marketplace, it's tempting to think Kubernetes and the vendor ecosystem has solved the problem of operationalizing containers at scale or of automatically managing the elasticity of the underlying infrastructure that these solutions need to be truly scalable. Far from it. There are at least six major pain points that companies experience when they try to deploy and run Kubernetes in their complex environments. In this presentation, the speaker will detail these pain points and explain how cloud can address them.
The deluge of IoT sensor data collected from connected devices and the powerful AI required to make that data actionable are giving rise to a hybrid ecosystem in which cloud, on-prem and edge processes become interweaved. Attendees will learn how emerging composable infrastructure solutions deliver the adaptive architecture needed to manage this new data reality. Machine learning algorithms can better anticipate data storms and automate resources to support surges, including fully scalable GPU-centric compute for the most data-intensive applications. Hyperconverged systems already in place can be revitalized with vendor-agnostic, PCIe-deployed, disaggregated approach to composable, maximizing the value of previous investments.
When building large, cloud-based applications that operate at a high scale, it's important to maintain a high availability and resilience to failures. In order to do that, you must be tolerant of failures, even in light of failures in other areas of your application. "Fly two mistakes high" is an old adage in the radio control airplane hobby. It means, fly high enough so that if you make a mistake, you can continue flying with room to still make mistakes. In his session at 18th Cloud Expo, Lee Atchison, Principal Cloud Architect and Advocate at New Relic, discussed how this same philosophy can be applied to highly scaled applications, and can dramatically increase your resilience to failure.
Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by sharing information within the building and with outside city infrastructure via real time shared cloud capabilities.
