Roger Greene, Ipswitch CEO, Named Recipient of the Network Computing ‘Contribution to IT’ Award

Ipswitch, Inc.’s Network Management Division, developer of the WhatsUp Gold suite of innovative IT management software, is pleased to announce that Roger Greene, Ipswitch CEO, has received the Network Computing ‘Contribution to IT’ award.

Six thousand individuals – chiefly readers of UK-based Network Computing - voted for these awards. This is the seventh year of the Network Computing Awards and the second year in a row that Ipswitch has received an award.

Greene founded Ipswitch in 1991. The company has divisions in Network Management, Secure File Transfer and Email Messaging. “I am honoured to receive this award and thank Network Computing’s readers, Ipswitch’s customers and the entire Ipswitch Network Management team, whose hard work has allowed us to address the network management needs of thousands of customers,” said Greene.

About the Network Computing Awards

The Network Computing awards were set up to recognise the solutions and companies which have been most impressive in helping organisations function better through getting the best out of their networks. Since the very beginning (the Awards of 2007) the organisers have relied on an on-line nominating and on-line voting model to determine the finalists and ultimately the winners in almost all of the categories. Over the years the results from this democratic process have provided valuable information for users, purchasers and vendors.

One of the most compelling promises of the cloud is that you can pull out a credit card and be working in minutes. No purchase orders to fill out, no equipment to wait for on the loading dock. Just instant access to the resources you need, when you need them. But accessibility comes at a price, and an unintentional consequence may be that you create yet another orphaned identity silo. Enterprise IT has spent years consolidating its mishmash of directories, only to discover that cloud now threate...
