FlatFrog announces the appointment of Dhwani Vyas as President and CEO

Dhwani Vyas joins FlatFrog from the role of Vice President for the Touch Business Unit at Cypress Semiconductor, a top three touch controller company. He joined Cypress as the company decided to develop capacitive touch systems in 2007 and has grown the business from zero to >$250 million over the last five years. Before joining Cypress he ran a similarly sized Business Unit for Philips/Semiconductors.

"I am extremely excited about the appointment of Dhwani to the CEO role at FlatFrog," said Christer Fåhraeus, founder and Chairman of FlatFrog. "He is a stellar commercially-minded executive with deep knowledge of touch technology and its market. Dhwani has the right leadership skills and precisely the right experience to spearhead FlatFrog to the next level. We are delighted to attract this top executive from Silicon Valley to FlatFrog and Sweden."

Dhwani, who is originally from India, has a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Lafayette College and a Masters degree in Plasma Physics and Chemical Engineering from Princeton University in the US. Later, upon completing his MBA at INSEAD, France, he was recruited by Philips in the Netherlands working on technologies for the mobile telecommunications market.

“Dhwani boasts strong technical and business credentials, understands extremely well the nature of touch solutions and knows how to navigate the complex ecosystem of OEMs, ODMs and key component providers. His track record for building, managing and driving performance with technical and commercial teams is most impressive. We are delighted to welcome Dhwani to FlatFrog” said Wassim Sacre, Chair of the Recruitment Committee and Managing Director at INVUS, the largest shareholder in FlatFrog.

“I have been following FlatFrog’s progress and I am attracted by the disruptive potential of the company’s technology. I am convinced that this technology will have a huge impact on the consumer electronics industry. With the launch of the first product, FlatFrog Multitouch 3200, the technology is now proven and we will soon be shipping our solutions in volume. I am excited to join FlatFrog and look forward to leading the rapid growth of the company to meet our customers’ needs” said Dhwani Vyas.

Christer Fåhraeus, Co-founder and Chairman, also acting CEO since 2012, will continue in his role as executive Chairman.
