Elemental and deltatre Forge Global Partnership to Deliver Turnkey Digital Video Solution for Sports

Elemental Technologies, the leading supplier of video solutions for multiscreen content delivery, and deltatre, a recognized leader in providing digital media, production and technology solutions to major sports federations and broadcasters, today announced a comprehensive technology and marketing partnership to deliver a turnkey digital video solution for sports rights-holders and broadcasters worldwide.

The solution, which features Elemental video processing systems paired with the deltatre Diva platform – a unique video user experience integrating synchronized data visualization and navigation for different sports - allows broadcasters to manage their unilateral and multilateral video feeds for multiscreen delivery. Already proven in multiple global sporting events, the deltatre Diva platform employs Elemental systems at broadcasters’ facilities, providing a complete on-premise adaptive bit rate encoding video workflow. The total solution also enables easy on-boarding of third-party technologies such as content delivery and ad insertion solutions.

“This solution combines the best-of-breed multiscreen technologies and services for our customers,” said Keith Wymbs, VP of marketing at Elemental. “Together with deltatre and its industry-leading Diva platform, we realized great success in delivering a superior service to our mutual clients in 2012. Now we can offer them the opportunity to maximize their second-screen reach and viewer engagement even more efficiently.”

“Digital video consumption is growing dramatically on all devices: laptops, tablets and smartphones. We need to provide the best possible quality on all screens with an optimized workflow. The selection of Elemental as our preferred video processing partner reflects the importance of both quality and flexibility,” said Carlo De Marchis, chief product officer at deltatre. “Elemental solutions complement our best-in-class Diva platform, mobile apps, web applications, remote operation capabilities and services. Together, we will increase the overall quality, consistency and service level for our joint customers but also we will enable new user experiences to become reality.”

Today’s announcement comes as sports content programmers intensify their focus on fan-engagement, advertising, and monetization opportunities associated with multiscreen viewing experiences – and well in advance of some of the world’s biggest sports events, including the 2014 Winter Olympics and FIFA World Cup. The integrated solution expands upon multiscreen capabilities that deltatre and Elemental have successfully delivered for multiple high-profile sports events, including the Rugby World Cup and 2012 Olympic Games.

deltatre and Elemental are co-exhibiting and speaking at the Sportel Rio show (Booth A21) this week in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Organizations want extraordinary results from their IT units. Today's mantra is faster delivery, better quality, cheaper solutions, and safer environments. Many CIOs are implementing cloud computing enterprise architectures to address these challenges with results varying greatly. Why are some organizations seeing only limited results from cloud computing implementations while others are increasing market share, decreasing costs, generating value, and innovating faster?
The rise of cloud computing has exposed hard drive-based storage as the new data center bottleneck. Combating this, data center managers have deployed SSDs to gain the performance needed to provide real-time access to data. However, due to budget constraints, many have turned to consumer-grade SSDs without understanding that they wear out quickly when processing enterprise workloads. In this session, Esther Spanjer will discuss recent endurance advancements in SSD technology that enable usage of...
