Birst Business Analytics Adds Another Dimension to Hiperos 3rd Party Management Solution

Hiperos Embeds Birst for Internal and Customer-Facing Business Insight

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/06/13 -- Birst Inc., the leading provider of agile business analytics, today announced that Hiperos is using Birst to power Hiperos Analytics within its flagship product, Hiperos 3rd Party Management (3PM). Birst is also providing Hiperos with extensive internal reporting and analysis, and serving as the basis for a benchmarking service that allows Hiperos customers to compare aspects of their 3rd party relationships with those of their peers.

Hiperos 3PM, a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, allows organizations to simplify the complexity of managing 3rd parties -- the vendors, suppliers, distributors, and agents who today deliver more than 50 percent of their business value. Hiperos helps organizations fully realize the benefits and value of using 3rd parties while mitigating potential brand and reputational risk, enforcing compliance, and maximizing the customer experience. Hiperos 3PM is used by many of the world's leading companies across disparate industries including financial services, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, software, and high tech. Embedded within Hiperos 3PM, Birst is providing Hiperos customers with easy, self-service access to enterprise-class analytics that go beyond simple reporting to deliver real-time dashboards with drill-down and drill-across access to critical information. Tightly integrated to provide a seamless user experience, Birst combines and analyzes data from multiple sources to provide actionable intelligence that customers can utilize to better manage 3rd parties.

Additionally, Birst is extracting and analyzing data from Salesforce.com to provide Hiperos with quick, easy access to key customer support information that is helping the organization to further enhance customer service and satisfaction. Birst is also providing greater insight into how customers are using Hiperos solutions to allow the organization to make more-informed decisions regarding product development and strategy.

Moreover, in a demonstration of Birst's advanced functionality and flexibility, Hiperos is using Birst to aggregate and anonymize data that powers a benchmarking service enabling Hiperos customers to identify areas of success and opportunities for improvement. The service helps customers to enact better business practices by comparing aspects of their 3rd party relationships and use of Hiperos 3PM to those of their peers.

"When we first began to look for an analytics solution, it was to replace an internal reporting process that was time-consuming and resource-intensive," said Doug Udoff, Vice President of Customer Success, Hiperos. "However, we quickly realized that Birst was an analytics solution we could take to market to further increase the value of our offerings. It's a testament to the depth and breadth of Birst's functionality that we selected it for both internal use and to embed within Hiperos 3PM."

To more effectively track key customer-service related information, Hiperos needed an advanced analytics solution that could easily integrate with Salesforce.com. Birst business analytics fit the bill, with enterprise-class capabilities and a prebuilt Salesforce.com connector that quickly tapped into the relevant data. After selecting Birst for this internal reporting and analysis, Hiperos began to look for an analytics solution to embed within Hiperos 3PM. Here, too, Birst was found to be the best choice. With its flexible, open framework and single sign-on functionality, Birst is easily embedded within existing applications. Additionally, Hiperos was able to take advantage of Birst's flexible deployment options, choosing to implement the solution in their data center as a virtual appliance in order to maximize control of customer data.

"With its extensive analytic capabilities and unparalleled deployment flexibility, Birst possesses an incredible capacity to satisfy varying business intelligence needs, whether internal or customer-facing," said Brad Peters, CEO of Birst. "As a result, we're able to not only help organizations to make better, fact-based decisions, but also to develop new products and services that increase revenue, competitiveness, and customer satisfaction and loyalty."
