Exterity Demonstrates IPTV Innovation at CABSAT 2013

Exterity, the leading provider of enterprise IPTV communication solutions, today announced that it is demonstrating its range of IPTV systems for the first time at CABSAT. Visitors to the Exterity booth (F4-33) will see solutions designed to help organisations in the Middle East maximise the value of live TV and video content by delivering it over an existing IP network to TVs, PCs, and AV display equipment.

The on stand demonstration will show a core IPTV system built from AvediaStream, AvediaPlayer and AvediaServer. This core system is integrated with additional industry specific functionalities that are particularly important for the Middle East, such as digital signage, room control and mobile distribution, as follows:

  • Integration of the core Exterity IPTV system with a Wowza server to stream video to wireless devices. As well as providing support for Flash, HLS (Apple) and Silverlight (Microsoft) streaming, the demonstration shows how Exterity and Wowza support optional transcoding and transrating capabilities, reducing bandwidth and resolutions to fit the requirements of specific streaming applications, as well making previously hard to implement features such as adaptive bitrate (ABR) streaming simple.
  • Exterity APIs allow third party room control systems to manage IPTV displays allowing all equipment to be controlled using one set of tools. CABSAT sees Exterity demonstrate integration with Crestron, a leading provider of room control and automation systems.

“We’ve spent a lot of time and effort on developing, designing and manufacturing market leading superior IPTV products and systems. In addition to providing the best IP video solutions we are also making sure that we are integrated with other recognised industry and technology leaders, such as room control and digital signage, to further extend our solutions,” said Colin Farquhar, CEO, Exterity.

“By providing both best in class IPTV and industry specific expertise and functionality, we aim to continue to provide the Middle East with video systems that communicate brilliantly but are also pre-integrated with key existing data systems: a winning combination,” concluded Farquhar.

Eleuterio Fernandes, newly appointed Middle East Sales Director for Exterity, said: “I’m really excited to make our CABSAT debut on the back of some great contract wins in the Middle East. I’m looking forward to meeting new and existing customers and channel partners at CABSAT. We will show them how our advanced IPTV solutions can maximise the impact of video in their businesses and share our plans for increased partner support and customer care from our Dubai office.”

It’s now possible to create isolated networks in the cloud using OpenStack Networking. Cloud Networks can help enhance network security, increase application agility and improve scalability and availability of your servers.
Cloud computing is more than a buzz-phrase it’s a transformative IT paradigm shift. The emphasis in the cloud is on elasticity, scalability, agility and open. Not just open standards but open APIs and open source. The delivery of software is also going through a paradigm shift.
