Predixion Software Wins Microsoft Health Users Group Innovation Award

Predixion Software has been recognized as a winner of the Microsoft Health Users Group (HUG) 2013 Innovation Award in the Innovation in Electronic Medical Record Optimization category. The announcement was made at the HIMSS13 Annual Conference & Exhibition where Predixion is demonstrating Predixion Readmission Insight™ in Microsoft’s booth #1127.

A major healthcare provider was recognized for its implementation of Predixion Readmission Insight™, a preventable readmission healthcare solution designed in collaboration with provider organizations and built on Predixion’s predictive analytics platform that is fully integrated with Microsoft BI capabilities. Predixion Readmission Insight is helping identify patients at risk of readmission before they leave the hospital and allows for more tailored care to ensure a more successful outcome. Predixion models have accurately predicted up to 86 percent of readmissions, resulting in better and faster decision making, improved patient outcomes, and reduced healthcare costs and readmission penalties.

“We are delighted to be recognized with an Innovation Award for our work in preventable hospital readmissions,” said Predixion co-founder and CEO Simon Arkell. “We are focused on delivering advanced, easy-to-use predictive analytics solutions for the Microsoft BI platform. This ‘last mile of analytics’ puts actionable predictions into the hands of non-technical information workers enabling predictive analytics to cross over into mainstream business applications and uses.”

About Predixion Enterprise Insight™

Predixion has created a world class predictive platform for big data. Predixion Insight is natively integrated with the Microsoft BI stack, leverages Apache Mahout Algorithm libraries and is fully integrated with Microsoft SQL Server®, Greenplum and Hadoop Hive, with other analytic platforms on the way. An advanced deployment framework was designed to simplify the process of sharing models across an enterprise, automate predictions directly from source data to line of business applications and Predixion’s own thin client app for PCs and tablets, and squeeze complexity out of the end user experience, resulting in self-service predictive analytics.

“The 2013 Microsoft HUG Innovation Awards recognizes health organizations that are using technology to improve patient care and engagement, streamline processes and boost performance, as well as enable more informed decisions about health,” said Steve Aylward, general manager of U.S. Commercial Health and Life Sciences, Microsoft. “Each of this year’s winners clearly demonstrate a breakthrough in technology and made a significant impact on business processes, costs, and the quality of patient care.”

In its 16th year, the Microsoft Health Users Group Innovation Awards program honors health organizations and independent software vendors and systems integrators who create the most impactful and innovative health solutions with Microsoft-based products. This year’s winners were honored at an awards ceremony March 3 at the HIMSS Conference.
