BARCELONA, SPAIN -- (Marketwire) -- 02/27/13 -- MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS (MWC) - Dailymotion (www.dailymotion.com), the world's second largest video destination with 112 million UMV and #31 site online as ranked by comScore, today announced an imminent overhaul of its Windows Phone 8 app with Facebook connect, mobile upload and video discovery features.
Dailymotion users can share their favorite videos with friends directly from the app using Windows Phone's deep social integration, including via Facebook, fully integrated for instant Timeline publication and social distribution. Just as Dailymotion's Windows Phone 8 app allows users to easily find their favorite videos and discover new ones, the new features enable Windows Phone users to share Dailymotion's video content in real-time, hassle-free.
The app's upload features include direct publication right from any Windows Phone 8 smartphone, with the option to choose from videos already saved in a local library or to record and upload videos on-demand. These features tap Lenses, a new experience in Windows Phone 8 empowering mobile users to unleash their creativity as it sparks -- directly from the phone's camera viewfinder. Adaptive bitrate controls and quality optimization ensure the best possible network usage while limiting mobile bandwidth consumption, as well.
"With the popularity of Windows Phone 8 and a growing line of smartphones, Dailymotion is proud to bring seamless video uploading and sharing to the already impressive Windows Phone 8 user experience," says Vincent Martin, VP Distribution and Business Development at Dailymotion. "We are always working to find new ways to allow users to share their creativity with the world and discover new content that inspires them, and this updated Windows Phone 8 app is the perfect tool to do just that."
In addition to the new app features, Dailymotion's Windows Phone 8 app will continue to allow users to view and discover their favorite video content from Dailymotion's library of over 30 million videos. Through instant Live Tile updates on the device's Start screen, to notifications on the lock screen, Dailymotion users will never miss the latest and greatest online videos. Dailymotion video results will even be showcased when users search directly on their devices main search platform.
"Apps come to life on Windows Phone thanks to features like Live Tiles, Lenses and deep social media integration," said Todd Brix, General Manager, Windows Phone Apps, Microsoft Corp. "Dailymotion takes advantage of all these features and more to enable users to both discover and share their own videos in new and interesting ways."
The new app is scheduled for release to the Windows Phone 8 store in April.
As one of the leading sites for sharing videos, Dailymotion attracts over 112 million unique monthly visitors (source: comScore January 2013) and 2 billion videos views worldwide, offering the best content from users, independent content creators and premium partners. Using the most advanced technology for both users and content creators, Dailymotion provides high-quality and HD video in a fast, easy-to-use online service that also automatically filters infringing material as notified by content owners. Offering 34 localized versions, Dailymotion's mission is to provide the best possible entertainment experience for users and the best marketing opportunities for advertisers, while respecting content protection. Over the last few years the healthcare ecosystem has revolved around innovations in Electronic Health Record (HER) based systems. This evolution has helped us achieve much desired interoperability. Now the focus is shifting to other equally important aspects – scalability and performance. While applying cloud computing environments to the EHR systems, a special consideration needs to be given to the cloud enablement of Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA), i.e., the largest single medical system in the United States.

Scott Jenson leads a project called The Physical Web within the Chrome team at Google. Project members are working to take the scalability and openness of the web and use it to talk to the exponentially exploding range of smart devices. Nearly every company today working on the IoT comes up with the same basic solution: use my server and you'll be fine. But if we really believe there will be trillions of these devices, that just can't scale. We need a system that is open a scalable and by using the URL as a basic building block, we open this up and get the same resilience that the web enjoys.
