Syniverse and AdaptiveMobile Recognized by GSMA for ‘Best Mobile Safeguard and Security Service’

Syniverse and AdaptiveMobile today announced they have been jointly recognized with the GSMA Global Mobile Award for Best Mobile Safeguard and Security Service at Mobile World Congress 2013. The award recognizes Messaging Trust, a mobile security solution developed by Syniverse and AdaptiveMobile to protect end users from advanced SMS spam and fraud threats, thus helping mobile service providers deliver high-quality end-user experiences.

“SMS is often regarded as a trusted form of instant communication, so protecting this channel from spam and fraud is vital to both end users and mobile service providers,” said Todd Boerner, Senior Vice President, Messaging, Syniverse. “Empowering our customers to provide a safe, high-quality end-user experience is our top priority, and this Global Mobile Award is a testament to our dedication.”

“We are delighted to be recognized as a leading global provider of mobile security solutions,” said Brian Collins, CEO, AdaptiveMobile. “This both validates our success to date and confirms the future direction of our joint proposition for the sector. Mobile security is evolving fast and we have created Messaging Trust in conjunction with Syniverse to preserve the cleanliness of the mobile messaging channel without interfering with, or slowing down, legitimate traffic. Mobile messaging is a trusted channel, and technologies that ensure high-quality end-user experiences further position all types of mobile ecosystem players for long-term success.”

Messaging Trust is a network-based protection solution that a mobile service provider can provide across its end-user base without requiring individual downloads or configuration. Unlike traditional ISP and enterprise security products, the Messaging Trust platform provides a highly accurate analysis of traffic in order to identify the sources of fraud and spam within mobile networks where the majority of traffic is legitimate and potentially revenue generating. Integrating Messaging Trust with Syniverse’s platforms, which currently process more than 2 billion messages per day in the United States alone, creates an easy-to-deploy, cost-effective solution.

“Through these awards, we are proud to shine the light on the mobile industry’s many innovators and leaders, from all corners of the world,” said John Hoffman, CEO, GSMA Ltd. “This year’s new categories reflected the industry’s reach into many new sectors and we received more than 600 high-quality entries from across the mobile ecosystem. We would like to congratulate all Global Mobile Awards winners and thank the many hundreds of companies and organisations that support these awards by entering each year.”

“Trust is an ongoing journey and sits at the foundation of any vendor relationship – the companies that don’t consistently earn trust won’t be around long,” noted Henrik Rosendahl, Senior VP of Cloud Solutions at Quantum, in this exclusive Q&A with Cloud Expo Conference Chair Jeremy Geelan. “As they do more with cloud, trust will organically grow – maybe it’s just about meeting SLAs or seeing firsthand that data is there when you need it,” Rosendahl continued. If zettabytes of data exist, why is less than 1% of the world’s data being analyzed today? Seasoned entrepreneur and startup CEO Radhika Subramanian believes that the inability to analyze and gain value from Big Data is that organizations are taking a services-centered approach. As the title of the session implies, Subramanian believes that the data needs to do the talking, not armies of analysts searching and querying databases. Her company has developed high-speed, advanced algorithms to autom...

Cloud enables SMBs to access new, scalable resources – previously only available to enterprises – in flexible and cost-effective ways. McKinsey’s SMB Cloud Report projects the public cloud market to reach $40-$50 billion by 2015, with SMBs comprising 65% of public cloud spending in 2015. But selling cloud to SMBs raises the questions of who, what and how. In this session Manjula Talreja, VP of Cisco’s Global Cloud Business Development Team, will discuss the importance of knowing who SMB...
