Soda PDF Releases New Version of Windows 8 PDF Reader

MONTREAL -- (Marketwire) -- 01/31/13 -- LULU SOFTWARE, the publisher of Soda® PDF, a portable document format (PDF) editing and creation application, announced the release of a new and improved version of Soda PDF 3D Reader for Windows 8 today.

"Our latest release of Soda PDF 3D Reader for Windows 8 is loaded with brand new features and improvements that came directly from the comments and requests of our users and have enhanced the overall usability of our free PDF reader whether on a PC or tablet," said Swanee Strassmann, Soda PDF's Product Manager. "Unlike other Windows 8 PDF applications, Soda PDF allows users to annotate, print and create PDFs and not just view them! If you compare Soda PDF with Adobe Acrobat or other PDF applications you'll quickly find that it should be the de facto choice for your PDF needs in the Windows 8 Environment."

Like all Soda PDF products, the 3D reader for Windows 8 is extremely easy to use and its compatibility with ARMs processors gives it the inherent capacity to function on any Windows 8 equipped tablet as ably as it does on a PC. And with its patent pending 3D view mode that simulates the experience of reading a real book and the ability to read digital comic book files (.cbz and .cbr), Soda PDF possesses many unique features that are designed to enhance the tablet and PC experience and make it an extremely capable "go-to" PDF reader option for Windows 8.

In addition to multiple viewing options, users will benefit from a more complete PDF reader that includes useful features like the ability to highlight text and add comments as well as the "find" feature that saves time by scanning the whole document for keywords. On top of that, Soda PDF 3D Reader is the only PDF reader in the Windows 8 Store that can create PDF documents from Word, Excel and 300+ file types.

Some of the new features include:

  • Conversion to PDF format from: .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx, .rtf, .odt, .txt, .html, .htm, .png, .gif, .bmp, .jpg, .jpeg files.
  • Enable/Disable corner page animation
  • Set Background color
