Jasper Wireless Deploys Tekelec’s Policy Server to Enable Global Machine-to-Machine Services

Jasper Wireless, the leading connected devices platform for machine-to-machine (M2M) and consumer electronics, is deploying Tekelec’s Policy Server (PCRF) to provide the scalability and flexibility M2M services require. Industry analyst and consulting firm Analysys Mason estimated that there were 100.4 million connected devices at the end of 2011, with the number rising to 2.1 billion by 2021.

Tekelec’s PCRF sets rules governing when devices transmit information to minimize congestion and maximize capacity over 3G and LTE networks. It can apply different qualities of service to different machines and implement flexible service plans based on transactions, connections, time of day, location, applications, or data usage.

“Jasper Wireless is the leading partner for mobile operators around the world to manage their M2M and connected device services,” said Daniel Collins, CTO at Jasper Wireless. “As a result, our operator partners rely on us for best-in-class solutions and that’s a big reason why we selected Tekelec. Jasper Wireless’ highly configurable solution offers automation of operational processes, including custom device provisioning, instant activation, real-time diagnostic tools and detailed billing and usage reports, to ensure customers benefit from an enhanced user experience.”

“Jasper’s services are helping mobile operators capitalize on an M2M revenue opportunity that will grow to nearly $1.2 trillion by 2020 according to the GSMA,” said Doug Suriano, CTO of Tekelec. “Tekelec’s Policy Server will ensure that Jasper can scale its deployment of connected devices and services quickly and profitably.”

CloudEXPO Stories
Enterprises are striving to become digital businesses for differentiated innovation and customer-centricity. Traditionally, they focused on digitizing processes and paper workflow. To be a disruptor and compete against new players, they need to gain insight into business data and innovate at scale. Cloud and cognitive technologies can help them leverage hidden data in SAP/ERP systems to fuel their businesses to accelerate digital transformation success.
In this presentation, you will learn first hand what works and what doesn't while architecting and deploying OpenStack. Some of the topics will include:- best practices for creating repeatable deployments of OpenStack- multi-site considerations- how to customize OpenStack to integrate with your existing systems and security best practices.
DXWordEXPO New York 2018, colocated with CloudEXPO New York 2018 will be held November 11-13, 2018, in New York City and will bring together Cloud Computing, FinTech and Blockchain, Digital Transformation, Big Data, Internet of Things, DevOps, AI, Machine Learning and WebRTC to one location.
Most DevOps journeys involve several phases of maturity. Research shows that the inflection point where organizations begin to see maximum value is when they implement tight integration deploying their code to their infrastructure. Success at this level is the last barrier to at-will deployment. Storage, for instance, is more capable than where we read and write data. In his session at @DevOpsSummit at 20th Cloud Expo, Josh Atwell, a Developer Advocate for NetApp, will discuss the role and value extensible storage infrastructure has in accelerating software development activities, improve code quality, reveal multiple deployment options through automated testing, and support continuous integration efforts. All this will be described using tools common in DevOps organizations.
Modern software design has fundamentally changed how we manage applications, causing many to turn to containers as the new virtual machine for resource management. As container adoption grows beyond stateless applications to stateful workloads, the need for persistent storage is foundational - something customers routinely cite as a top pain point. In his session at @DevOpsSummit at 21st Cloud Expo, Bill Borsari, Head of Systems Engineering at Datera, explored how organizations can reap the benefits of the cloud without losing performance as containers become the new paradigm.
