Cassidian Communications Announces General Availability of New VESTA® 4.0 and Sentinel® 4.0 NG9-1-1 Systems

Cassidian Communications, an EADS North America company, is pleased to announce the general availability of the new VESTA® 4.0 and Sentinel® 4.0 NG9-1-1 communications systems. The VESTA 4.0 and Sentinel 4.0 systems combine Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) call handling with advanced Cassidian Communications call control technologies to establish a new benchmark for 9-1-1 call processing inside today’s Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs).

At the heart of the VESTA 4.0 and Sentinel 4.0 systems is a highly configurable desktop user interface (UI), engineered to give 9-1-1 call takers a better, richer and increasingly intuitive user experience. The 4.0 UI accommodates multiple layouts and workflows, and includes an advanced dial directory, providing best-in-class contact management and dialing control.

“The 4.0 user interface is a primary building block within Cassidian Communications’ next generation integrated, multimedia geospatial platform,” said Jeff Wittek, Chief Strategic Officer of Cassidian Communications. “This platform is a foundational component of our next generation public safety communications ecosystem, which encompasses call routing and call processing, mapping, MIS and analytics, emergency notification, P25 land mobile radio and LTE, and crucial managed services like real-time monitoring and response.”

Visitors to Cassidian Communications’ booth #205 at this week’s 2013 CALNENA 9-1-1 Mission Critical Training Event, January 23-24, will see demonstrations of the 4.0 UI, along with other enhancements to the VESTA and Sentinel systems. These include role-based login with PSAP selection and the versatile Activity view application that facilitates comprehensive supervisory monitoring and alerting.

The VESTA 4.0 and Sentinel 4.0 next generation 9-1-1 call processing systems deliver cost-effective scalability and leading edge call-taking capabilities, serving PSAPs with up to 250 call takers. Their flexible, open architecture accommodates single site deployment, as well as distributed geodiverse multi-site and multiagency deployments, and the purpose-built, second-generation internet protocol (IP) softswitch design combines mission-critical SIP telephony with remote site survivability, ensuring uninterrupted public safety communications.

“Just as important as having the right tools and technologies at your fingertips, is having a trusted partner in public safety communications at your side,” said Bob Freinberg, CEO of Cassidian Communications. “Our VESTA 4.0 and Sentinel 4.0 systems are passionately designed to keep people connected when it matters most, and the entire Cassidian Communications team stands ready to assist when, as our mantra reflects, CRITICAL MATTERS™.”
