Ergotron's Next Generation StyleView Medical Cart Redesigns the Standard for Point of Care Support

Mobility, Modularity and Migration Enhance Caregiver Workflow and IT Department Efficiency

ST. PAUL, MN -- (Marketwire) -- 01/14/13 -- Ergotron, Inc., a global leader of ergonomic sit to stand mounting and mobility solutions, has redesigned its industry-leading StyleView® cart portfolio to address the dynamics of hospital and caregiver workflow and preferences. The new modular StyleView design enables hospitals to purchase for today's information need but yet has a cost-effective and clear forward migration path for adding medication delivery systems and other options in the future.

Incorporating an upgradable drawer system and a patent-pending new worksurface and computer storage compartment designed to significantly reduce workflow interruption as well as IT support needs, Ergotron's StyleView cart portfolio offers the most ergonomic, lightweight and comfortable computing experience possible.

"With the new StyleView, we've empowered hospitals and caregivers to adapt their carts as their workflow and needs change," said Pete Segar, president, Ergotron branded products. "The upgradable drawer system provides a point-of-care solution that will grow with them and offers the flexibility to create workstations that fit their needs. While most often used for medication delivery, there also may be a need to have a utility drawer for consumable items such as wipes or gloves. The drawer system can accommodate a wide range of medication delivery methods such as unit dose, envelopes, bottles, or a combination of these. The flexibility is unmatched."

The growing trend towards decentralized medication management emphasizes "on the floor" stocking which places greater requirements on having a secure avenue for transporting medication from dispensing station to the patient. The redesigned StyleView cart system empowers hospitals with the ability to easily modify carts to support changes in medication delivery strategies -- from individual patient or envelope drawers to keypad security and compliance supporting audit trails.

Another aspect of the redesign is improving the caregiver's daily routine. Beyond the flexibility of the new StyleView carts, the nurses will immediately realize the ease of mobility. Despite adding drawers, the weight of the carts remains light and easy to move, with no compromise in stability or functionality as users have come to expect from Ergotron products.

The carts also incorporate full sit-stand flexibility so that caregivers can "give their feet a break while still working." The carts offer 20" (51 cm) of smooth height adjustment to fit a wide range of caregiver heights and viewing preferences. Access to full sit-stand computing allows nurses to use StyleView as a personal workstation, giving them the option to sit or stand comfortably as their workflow requires throughout the day.

Through our free Ergotron StyleLink software, managing a powered cart fleet is streamlined. IT personnel can monitor and manage carts remotely to program drawer access codes, determine utilization and workflow patterns, aid in maintenance of the power system, and check battery charge status.

Available in a highly configurable non-powered and powered format, including LiFe battery technology for faster recharge, Ergotron's StyleView ensures ultimate cart uptime while minimizing maintenance time and replacement costs. And with Ergotron's Service Programs like Annual Contracts, IT managers can experience the comfort of knowing their enterprise fleet of carts is working for them.
