OCAJP Java 7 Certification Preparation

Java SE 7 Programmer Associate Certification Preparation

Difference between SCJP and OCAJP
SCJP (Sun Certified Java Programmer) is the certification name previously referred by Sun Microsystems for Java 6 and prior versions. The certification has been re-published and rebranded after Oracle takeover Sun Microsystems. There will be only one program level certification for Java prior to Java 7 but after Java 7, Oracle introduced two certifications.

  1. OCAJP (Associate Level Java Program)
  2. OCPJP (Professional Level Java Program)

Note that OCAJP is the pre-requirement for OCPJP. One must complete OCAJP prior to taking OCPJP (old name SCPJP).

Knowledge required to clear OCAJP exam
The exam requires basic Java Knowledge of Java data types, strings, arrays, loop constructs, methods and encapsulation, inheritance and exceptions. Complete Java 7 knowledge may not be required for this exam; however it is required to attend next level exam (OCPJP).

Exam Topics
Topic1: Java Basics
Topic2: Working With Java Data Types
