Shell launches new Lubricants mobile app across Europe

Latest mobile application designed to make Lubricant selection easier

Shell, the number one global lubricants supplier*, today announced the launch of the Shell Lubricants app for iOS and Android. The app aims to become an essential tool for Shell customers across Europe and marks a further step into mobile for the global energy company.

The free app, which will initially launch in the United Kingdom, Russia, and Germany before rolling out to other regions, integrates the Shell LubeMatch lubricant selector tool, currently available on www.shell.com and allows users to find the right Shell lubricants for vehicles and industrial equipment.

Users can save their choices to 'Favourites' and access the latest news and promotions. The application provides lubricant recommendations for cars, motorcycles, vans, trucks, off-highway vehicles and industrial machinery and allows users to share these easily via email. The app also features a handy flashlight - especially useful for looking under the bonnet.

The app has built-in cloud enabled technology that will allow it to be continually refreshed with new content and making it a repeat destination for customers looking to find out more and make the right lubricants choice for their vehicles or machinery.

Oliver van Bilsen, Global Head of Digital for Shell Lubricants, commented "Mobile has become a hugely important platform globally and is a great way to add value to existing and potential customers. Shell aims to offer something more useful to customers than just another driving game; we wanted to differentiate Shell Lubricants and offer functionality that delivers real long-term value, and something that people will come back to time and time again.

"Shell Lubricants is the first to offer this in this marketplace and we are delighted with the feel and functionality of the app, which we will continue to expand out with more features to improve the overall user experience."

The app will be available for both iPhone and Android devices as of today from both the iTunes store (http://bit.ly/RGgzMv) and the Google play store (http://bit.ly/TtdblV)
