Bluefin Payment Systems, the leading provider of secure payment gateway technology to integrated software vendors (ISVs) and software as a service (SaaS) providers, announced today that Dickson Chu has joined the company’s board of directors. Mr. Chu is currently a principal at DC Advisors, and has previously served as the SVP of Merchant Solutions for Living Social, Managing Director of Citibank, and Vice President, Head of Global Products & Experience for PayPal.

Ranked the 6th fastest growing private company in the U.S. by Inc. “We are thrilled to have Dickson join Bluefin’s board,” said John M. Perry, CEO of Bluefin Payment Systems. “He will add valuable payment experience and his first-hand knowledge of the software industry is a perfect fit, as Bluefin continues to lead in payments enablement to the software industry.”

Mr. Chu brings more than 25 years of experience in payments and technology and is an active advisor to a number of emerging companies. Prior to joining DC Advisors, Mr. Chu was SVP of Merchant Solutions for Living Social, where he managed the creation of a new business unit. Prior to Living Social, Mr. Chu was Managing Director, Digital Networks, for the Citi Business Unit, Global Enterprise Payments. As VP of Global Product and Experience for PayPal, Mr. Chu led the product strategy, development and user experience for the company.

Mr. Chu also served as global General Manager for PayPal’s Merchant Services business unit where he was part of the founding management team that grew that business from a small ‘off eBay payments’ team to a $1B+ global business that continues to serve as the growth engine for PayPal and eBay. Prior to PayPal, Mr. Chu held senior management positions at Yahoo! PayDirect, I-Impact (an analytical software company), Innoventry (a self-service kiosk payments company serving the underbanked) and Wells Fargo.

“Bluefin is at the forefront of two important trends in the payments industry – leveraging the critical reach of ISV’s and the convergence of online and offline commerce. It is my privilege to serve on the board of Bluefin and to help guide it to reach its full potential as the next generation payments company,” stated Mr. Chu.
