Mobius Institute Vibration Introduces Accredited ISO 18436 Category IV Vibration Analysis Training and Certification

Mobius Institute, the premier provider of vibration analysis and machine reliability training courses and products, today announced that it will begin offering its new accredited master-level vibration analysis course and certification to the U.S. & Canadian markets in 2013. This course will be given in accordance with ISO standard 18436 for Category IV vibration analysts. The Master Vibration Analyst course provides the highest level of vibration analysis training and certification available to worldwide industrial plant personnel and vibration analysis consultants.

In accordance with International Organization for Standardization (www.iso.org), ISO 18436 standards, this course provides comprehensive training in the subjects of fluid film instabilities, rotor-bearing dynamics, mass stiffness and dampening, modal analysis, frequency response functions, phase, coherence and operating deflection shapes. The course is held in two separate sessions covering a minimum of 64 hours of training, with an option to take the certification examination at the end of the second course period.

Mobius Institute began delivering vibration analysis training in 1999 with the launch of its flagship computer-based training product, iLearnVibration™. Since that time, Mobius has expanded its iLearn product line to include teachings of field balancing, shaft alignment and other condition monitoring topics. In 2005, Mobius moved its high-quality training to the classroom by offering ISO 18436 Category I-III vibration analyst training courses worldwide. In 2012, Mobius Institute became an ISO/IEC 17024 accredited certification body, able to provide ISO Category I-IV certifications throughout its training network. With the addition of Category IV Vibration Analysis training to its offerings, Mobius Institute now has a complete offering that is unsurpassed by any vendor or training organization throughout the world.

A key element of Mobius Institute’s courses is its Crystal Clear™ training technology that allows complex concepts to be more easily understood. Proven and refined since 2005, Crystal Clear training provides students with a higher level of understanding of vibration analysis through its extensive use of hundreds of highly visual 3D animations, Adobe® Flash® technology simulations, and numerous software simulators to captivate the student’s mind. Crystal Clear assures that students don’t simply depend on memorizing vibration theory, but clearly visualize and understand it.

“We are pleased to be able to offer the accredited Master-level course and certification to the industrial marketplace,” said Jason Tranter, founder and managing director, Mobius Institute. “I am very confident that our students will find that Mobius Institute’s Crystal Clear format will ensure that they will be more successful in learning and fully understanding these advanced topics, than from any competitive training offering.”
