Time Warner Cable Using WeFi to Assure Subscribers of Best-in-Class Wi-Fi Service

WeFi (www.wefi.com) today announced the successful deployment of its WeANDSF™ Wi-Fi network management solution with Time Warner Cable’s TWC WiFi™ service, completing the launch of a multi-year agreement. WeANDSF (which stands for WeFi Enhanced Access Network Discovery and Selection Function) is the industry’s most comprehensive network management solution for wireless carrier mobile data offloading and cable MSO mobile Internet onloading, assuring operators their end-users always use the best possible wireless connection. The WeANDSF allows the cable giant to deliver a best-in-class wireless data service to its subscribers. Time Warner Cable Inc. (NYSE: TWC) is among the largest providers of video, high-speed data and voice services in the United States, connecting more than 15 million customers to entertainment, information and each other.

“Working with one of the largest cable operators in North America, considering its extensive evaluation of WeFi’s WeANDSF solution, is a validation of the importance and breadth of our technology,” said Zur Feldman, CEO of WeFi. “TWC recognized the importance of our ‘always-best-connected’ network management technology for their end-users. As wireless broadband and faster mobile devices create exponentially increasing demand for mobile data services, and fierce competition for subscribers increases, the impact of the end user experience on revenue cannot be overstated.”

“WeFi is providing TWC WiFi™ with the most complete and efficient network management toolset we evaluated and their powerful Wi-Fi network planning tool is giving us great insights on where best to deploy our Wi-Fi hotspots,” said Mike Roudi, SVP Corporate Development, Time Warner Cable. “WeFi analyzes massive amounts of real-time data on Wi-Fi hotspot locations and conditions and gives TWC real-time feedback on the quality of the Wi-Fi networks. This data is crucial for TWC WiFi to deliver the best possible mobile Internet service.”

WeFi’s WeANDSF solution was first developed for mobile operators to intelligently manage mobile device offloading from saturated mobile data networks to available Wi-Fi networks. Adapted for cable operators to manage the onloading of data traffic to their super-fast Wi-Fi services, WeFi’s WeANDSF solution allows Time Warner Cable to set network management policies and priorities. WeANDSF optimizes data traffic and utilizes all types of Wi-Fi networks, such as public hotspots deployed by TWC WiFi and its CableWiFi™ partners, home and office networks and millions of other public Wi-Fi spots.
