MimoMonitors.com Announces Mac OS X Compatibility with its New Magic Touch Capacitive Touchscreen USB Monitor

As the company known for ushering USB touchscreen monitors into the US market only a few years ago, MimoMonitors.com has addressed the needs of its Mac customer base by offering full compatibility with its revolutionary new Mimo Magic Touch and other USB touchscreen models for Mac OS X 10.3 to 10.8 (Mountain Lion) users.

When released in early 2012 as the world’s only USB-driven capacitive touchscreen monitor, the Magic Touch line was fully compatible only with Windows 7 and Linux operating systems; while Mac users were only able to operate the monitor as a display screen. Now, thanks to a newly developed software driver (available for $35 on the Mimo website), Mac users too can now unlock the amazing user experience of the Magic Touch’s capacitive touchscreen. The licensing fee also includes an optional Gesture Pack utility for the Magic Touch capacitive monitors – two-finger scrolling, pinch/magnify, rotate, etc. Furthermore, this new touchscreen driver will also allow Mac users who own or purchase the Mimo 720 line of 7” resistive monitors to unlock touchscreen functionality for operating systems up to Mac OS X 10.8. This Mac software driver is available for delivery either through digital download or CD-ROM.

Capacitive sensing technology has revolutionized the wireless smart phone market; the Mimo Magic Touch makes it readily available as an interface for your computer – extending or mirroring your main monitor display, and far surpassing the responsiveness and overall user experience of traditional “point-and-poke” resistive touchscreen monitors. The monitor is available in two models, the standard Mimo Magic Touch which offers a single USB 2.0 connection for both connectivity and power; and the Mimo Magic Touch Deluxe, which adds two convenient USB ports to act as a mini-hub to connect other peripherals, along with a separate AC adapter to re-charge or drive high-power devices plugged into the USB hub, when needed.

Not only is the Mimo Magic Touch a great touchscreen monitor for every individual’s computing setup, it is also an elegant solution for touchscreen control panels in such business applications such as point-of-sale (POS) input and entry, corporate videoconferencing, smart home entertainment systems, and industrial/manufacturing controls. It is ideal for a range of additional touchscreen applications in healthcare, hospitality, retail, education, sound/video editing, and many other industries. Furthermore, its versatile design allows for screen removal and independent use from its docking station, as either a tethered USB-powered tablet or mounted display (via the VESA 75 mounting system)

Compact and versatile, the Mimo Magic Touch screen is less than 1-inch thick and weighs under 1lb, while featuring a best-in-class 1024 x 600 resolution – offering sharp graphics and clear images for video, multi-media design, and a full range of business needs.
