After completing successful pilots with 40 independent investment advisory firms, Schwab has launched two key platforms as part of the Schwab Intelligent Integration initiative: Schwab OpenView Integrated Office™ and Schwab OpenView Gateway™ for Salesforce. Both will be showcased at the industry conference “T3” Technology Tools for Today™ starting today in Dallas, TX.

Provided by Schwab Performance Technologies®, Schwab OpenView Integrated Office is a turnkey solution that bundles together key technologies for independent advisor firms (RIAs), including Salesforce CRM customized for RIAs, real-time custody data from Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. (Schwab), and outsourced portfolio management for assets custodied both with Schwab and elsewhere. Provided by Schwab Intelligent Technologies™, Schwab OpenView Gateway is designed to be a flexible, open-architecture technology platform that enables data integration between Schwab systems and those of participating technology providers.
“Schwab Intelligent Integration is designed to help advisors focus on their clients and increase firm efficiency by integrating the technology and workflows that they rely upon every day,” said Neesha Hathi, vice president of technology solutions for Schwab Advisor Services. “The Schwab Integrated Office platform should particularly appeal to advisors just starting out or to those looking for a streamlined experience selecting and implementing new technology. The Schwab OpenView Gateway platform is designed for advisors who already have technology in place and still want the benefits of high quality integration.”
“Schwab OpenView Gateway for Salesforce and Schwab OpenView Integrated Office highlight the strengths of our platforms when building custom mobile and cloud applications,” said Ron Huddleston, senior vice president, ISV & Channels at salesforce.com. “We are excited to continue to help independent investment advisors achieve success in the cloud with Schwab.”
A key part of Schwab Intelligent Integration is the Schwab OpenView Workflow Library™, which includes comprehensive best practices and customized workflows for working with Schwab and Schwab OpenView Gateway CRM providers. As announced in November, the first five workflows for the Salesforce CRM integration are currently available, and more workflows will be added throughout 2012.
“Advisors who want to use Salesforce can now benefit from Schwab Intelligent Integration in a number of ways, whether by accessing workflows or choosing one of the two integrated platforms,” said Hathi.
Among the 40 firms who participated in the pilots for two platforms were Clarfeld Financial Advisor, Inc. and Sustainable Wealth Management.
“The technology behind Schwab OpenView Gateway for Salesforce is transparent and easy to set up,” said Anthony Schembri, managing director of Clarfeld. “The real benefit to me as an advisor though, is the power the integration delivers to my desktop or iPad while on the phone or in a meeting with a client. Seamless access to real-time account data is incredibly helpful when you want accurate information ‘on-the-fly’ without the burden of logging in to multiple web pages or applications. It has been a great experience being part of the beta group, offering insight and suggestions to Schwab's technology team as they built the integration from the ground up. My evaluation is simple: ‘It just works!’”
“It’s super important to me that we are able to get our jobs done as efficiently as possible and with as few keystrokes as possible,” said Diane Greenwood, chief compliance and financial officer for Sustainable Wealth Management. “We are not a traditional 8-5, Registered Investment Advisory practice. We conduct business in the office, on the road, from the house, from client homes and meetings, on our iPads™, iPhones® and laptops. Schwab OpenView Integrated Office makes this possible. It also greatly reduces the number of emails we send to each other. Now, when we need to look at something, or take care of something, it’s easily assigned to us within the CRM, and everyone else in the office can see exactly what is going on with our clients. Integrated Office saves me an immeasurable amount of time each day.”
Standard pricing for Schwab OpenView Integrated Office starts at $10,000 for two users. Schwab OpenView Gateway for Salesforce is available at no additional cost for advisors who work with Schwab Advisor Services and Salesforce CRM. Interested advisors can download the Schwab OpenView Gateway for Salesforce app via the salesforce.com AppExchange™.
