How often does one common cause unite such disparate technology giants as Cisco, Intel, HP, eBay, Sun and Adobe? Thirteen of the Fortune 500's largest companies are Silicon Valley-based; all are stepping up the the plate in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and are actively helping relieve both the human suffering and the infrastructure disruption. As Stephen Jordan, executive director of the Center for Corporate Citizenship, an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, told the Washington Post at the weekend: "This is the most rapid outpouring of corporate help I've ever seen."
SYS-CON Media's various news desks have been bringing immediate word of the various initiatives from the companies behind the world's Internet technologies (what we refer to as i-Technology) the moment they are announced. Here is a sampling of the Valley's responses to the disaster:

i have been waiting for service and the 3rd replacement printer yet again it has not appeared after definetly promising it would be delivered. I am dying of throat cancer and have a very short time left and I am trying to send images etc to my sons (in the UK) before I die so they will have something of their fathers history. yet for over a month I have had computer parts replaced and printer whhic do not do what they claim or break down. I would like the email address. i am sending "Don't buy Dell" and a series of email stories on DELL and it's poor service to groups of more than 10,000 members and will continue as will to newspapers and on every contact I have. I would appreciate an early response before I die although I know that is unlikely from a company that lies so easily |
